With Ammon away for the weekend and our decision not to bother any of our cohorts, Law and Moreno choose to go all old school on your asses. This means we have some New Releases, which lets us talk about how awful UNFINISHED BUSINESS looks, and a Box Office report that has us looking over and judging Will Smith’s entire career.

Last week we discussed the potential of a sequel to FACE/OFF. This week we made the trailer for it.

Every once in awhile an interview subject comes along who reminds us why we got into the weird world of podcasting to begin with. Talking about the film business is fun. Laughing about the business is a joy. Genuinely funny stories from a genuine person within the business walls is rare. When we do one of these things within an interview, we feel we have done our jobs. When we can combine all three into one entertaining interview, we feel we have hit a home run. Trust us folks. Actor/writer Adam Simon is a home run.

Moreno and I get things moving in the the early going, giving a bit of small talk about why there hasn’t been a Binge Aftertaste for a month plus (blame alcohol). The lovely Jason Morris joins the conversation and we all get into a discussion -or whine fest- about how much of a bitch sinus infections can be.

Manliness finally hits our podcast when Adam gets on the line. After giving us a tour of the studio where he is currently working on a Shinedown documentary, Simon gets into the set of circumstances of how he ended up homeless for a short amount of time and how writing Man Down was the catharsis to help him deal with the situation. After praising Shia LeBeouf -and threatening to punch anyone who says a bad word about him- Simon gives us even more background about how Man Down progressed from a small indie film that was going to be made ‘using a bag of nickels,’ into a project starring LeBeouf, Gary Oldman, Kate Mara, Jai Courtney, and Binge favorite Clifton Collins Jr.

Simon then goes into his new science fiction starrer Synapse. Armed with a massively influenced science fiction storyline, Simon and director Kenlon Clark’s devotion to making the film as good and expensive looking as they can seems to be paying off. With stories such as Clark yelling, ‘cut, RUN!’ to avoid getting caught shooting their film without a permit, to the project once again gathering steam from backers who loved what they saw, there is never a dull moment each and every time Simon speaks.

All this plus a HILARIOUS on-set story about Jai Courtney, a passionate King of Hollywood discussion, a blooming love connection between Morris and Simon, Moreno’s medicine consisting of bourbon & Nyquil taking effect mid interview, a hint of the After Binge Movie Aftertaste Show, and MUCH more make this one show not to be missed!!

Synapse is yet to have a release date, and look for Man Down sometime in the fall.  We at Binge Media will of course keep you informed. Also, be on the lookout for future appearances from Simon and Clark on the Binge Media airwaves very soon.

Brother Chris joins us in this extra special edition of Banshee.  Can Dava stop being a real fucking twat about shit?  Why is her Mayor dad so fighty fighty, how will he EVER get re-elected?  We’re loving the second half of this episode, it’s seriously the best thing Banshee has ever shot.  The aftermath?  Weird, crazy military T2000 guy is going to be our new favorite Banshee villain come season 4.  I’m telling you.  Ok, I’m drunk shut up.

After the Academy Awards finished last night Moreno, Ammon, and Law found themselves recording a brand new BingeCast and discussing everything that went down at the big show. Why is John Travolta the weirdest dude on the planet? Tanning Chatum was high as balls. Octavia Spencer has the improv skills of a fork. Zoe Saldana is hot as hell. All these topics are covered early and often. Also, how did NPH do? And many babadiicks to spread around.

There’s also a regular show in here somewhere when we get to TV Round-UP and talk The Americans, Banshee, The Walking Dead, Justified, and Better Call Saul.

What I consider our greatest Angry Drunk Movie Dads episode yet, Ammon and Law force their entire families to watch the BACK TO THE FUTURE trilogy. Is it an amazing bonding experience or have lives been destroyed? They also pick next month’s movie homework, taking into consideration the time of year and recent revelations.

After all that business, the boys start discussing some of the shit that their kids are addicted to on Netflix and stumble upon an actual million dollar idea. It involves YouTube, booze, and toys. See you at the country club, bitches. Check out one of the videos Law is talking about below and hate yourself for not doing that for a living. Also check out the little kid at the end of BTTF III pointing at his wiener during the final scene.

If you’re expecting a Monday Morning Moreno in the morning after I’ve spent 4 days in New York City then shut up.  My head hurts.   But the only thing that can cure that is a glass of bourbon and Oscar talk with PeteMC.  We briefly recap the New York trip with tales of drunkeness and me singing like it’s a karaoke event (i.e. horribly). It was a great time had by all, but mostly by my liver.

Afterwards we get down to what and who we think are going to win the Oscars and who we think the Academy will choose.  Turns out we have similar choices, and the ones we don’t have lined up….well, it doesn’t really matter.  Fuck it.
