Binge Media

Game of Thrones is back.

I was just going to type that and leave you to it but I guess there a lot more shit going on in this show than leaked episodes of our favorite series.

Ammon, Moreno, and Law kick things off with TV Round-Up and the season premiere of GOT. Law answers any and all questions about episode one and washes his hands of any wrongdoing. There’s also Daredevil to touch on as Ammon can only get through a couple episodes while law finishes half the season in one afternoon. Ammon realizes that The Slap is over, Moreno forgets to watch Justified, and we all give our two cents on the season finale of Better Call Saul along with how we think the second season will play out.

Kupka calls in while tripping balls from some random hotel he’s not staying at to update us on the Binge Media Fantasy Hockey League and why everybody should still hate him in the Fantasy Hottie League.

Google Voice delivers a couple more amazing voicemails.

What Did You Watch has our thoughts on I HATE CHRISTIAN LAETTNER, HOME, and a new little segment called Revisit Reviews gives us a chance to catch up with RUSHMORE.

Stay tuned to the site this week for the return of our Game of Thrones commentaries.

Kupka and I are back with the first Binge Music Cast of the year!  I wanna shoot you so bad, my dick’s hard.  If you don’t get that New Jack City reference then we can’t be friends.

We’re pretty excited and optimistic about the year in music.  There have been quite a few offerings that we’ve dug in the first quarter, half of which we didn’t even feature here. Saul Goodman, we’re still finding our Music Cast footing. Shut up and enjoy!

Artists featured this week:

Kendrick Lamar

Houndmouth

Songhoy Blues

Benjamin Booker (again)

Olivia Jean

Here’s the opening song, of which I am making a bluegrass cover.

And here’s the little Irish kid singing it:

It’s Thursday and you know what that means (at least for today)? That’s right another commentary to the amazing Better Call Saul. Listen in as Kupka, Luke and Jack break things down and even turn one of the three into liking the episode more than they did. Gotta listen to find out who it was! Stay tuned as we break down the first 6 episodes in a special format, coming to you soon!

SPOILER ALERT FOR NETFLIX’S BLOODLINE

This week I have a very special guest on Monday Morning Moreno, a man who I’ve known for quite some time but is a complete stranger on this kind of show.  His name is Jim Law and he’s bravely battling CanadiAIDS. I will make him a quilt.

After briefly discussing the Netflix original series BLOODLINE on this week’s BingeCast, I wanted to have Law on to discuss, in detail and with full spoilers, the first season of the show.  We start off with an overall discussion of the show, its highs and lows, its premise, then delve right into what an unbelievably amazing performance Ben Mendelsohn turned in as Danny Rayburn.  The guy oozes vileness, seediness and slithering charm consistently throughout the show.

We talk about what could possibly happen in the second season and agree that if they just left this as one season, we’d all be the better for it.

Here’s this week’s opening song.

Being back on the BingeCast is the cure to all my recent aches and pains as Moreno, Ammon, and I settle in with tons of shit-talk and booze.

We get busy early and often with TV Round-Up and complete disregard we have for The Walking Dead. There’s also tons of other words about The Following, The Slap, Bloodline, and that chapter that was released for the next Game of Thrones book which leads into what we expect from the upcoming TV season.

Google Voice is stupid and proves it once again with some stellar transcriptions of listener voicemail.

What Did You Watch is simply all of us losing our shit over FURIOUS 7 for an hour. What was silly, what was awesome, what was with all that ass, what if they ended it differently, what if this guy was in it and that guy wasn’t. We cover it all. Then I lose my composure while reviewing GOING CLEAR: SCIENTOLOGY AND THE PRISON OF BELIEF. I don’t like what I don’t understand and I’m good with that. Ammon also checks out INTO THE WOODS and revisits the first three MISSION IMPOSSIBLE movies for shits and giggles.

A little Trailer Round-Up and a preview of the next Drunk Angry Movie Dads and we’re out. Watch the site this week for a new Monday Morning Moreno and the latest Better Call Saul commentary. Boom.

Kupka, Jack, and Luke are back with their thoughts on arguably the best episode of Better Call Saul yet. Make sure to tune in again next week when we not only bring you our thoughts on the Season Finale and the season as a whole, but we’re also gonna do it live.

This week Kupka and Batch are joined by Moviefreak as they talk about the games they’ve been playing, some new hot deals in the Xbox and Playstation stores, and they even pick the first movie commentary they are going to do. Don’t be silly, you’re going to have to listen to find out what it is. This show was also broadcast live as will most of our shows in the future. Let us know below if/when you’d want to tune in.

Welcome to the very first ever Monday Morning Moreno podcast. Isn’t that CRAZY!?  First one ever!

No, for real, stop playing around.  This week I had listener/contributor/best buddy PeteMC join the podcast to talk documentaries.  He just recently had seen the Ebert documentary “Life Itself” and the John Milius documentary “Milius“, and being a huge documentary fan I couldn’t wait to discuss those films. And as things progress, we wind up talking about some of our favorite documentaries including Exit Through the Gift Shot, Hoop Dreams, Man on Wire, and Grizzly Man.

Being an absolute asshole, I completely forget to talk about one of my favorite documentaries, The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia. Seriously. So. Good.

Towards the conclusion of the podcast we focus a bit on music documentaries and finally we’re out.

Hope you guys enjoy this overview of some of the best documentaries ever. As always, if you want to add to the conversation, call 708-406-9546, and let us know your favorite documentaries or if you have another talking point or want to be a co-host. Come on, don’t be a pussy.

Here’s this week’s opener: Houndmouth “15 Years”.

While Law rests and recoups from his bout with CanadiAIDS, Jackie Boy, Ammon and myself handle the heavy lifting with a healthy dose of goodness sure to knock your socks off.

“Knock your socks off“?  What a douche.

We start things off talking to Jack about our Better Call Saul commentaries (which he records with Kupka you should totally listen to), and leads us into TV Round Up with reviews of The Walking Dead, Last Man on Earth and House of Cards S3.  Some light spoilers for HOC so proceed with caution.

We finally figured out who’s behind Google Voice.  Fuuuuuckin’ Kupka.  Ammon’s theory will blow your mind.

We discuss the Spielberg/Ready Player One news and dive into What Did You Watch This Week with reviews a’plenty of Rudderless, Robocop, the shittiness of Lucy, Milius, A Mighty Wind, Internet’s Own Boy, The Kingsmen, Maleficent, Muck, Back Country, Animal, The Congress, and Interstellar.

WHEW.

Stupid Comments is played stupidly and we’re out!

If you search “Jim Law Canada” in Google Image Search this is the third  image that comes up.

In yet another first for Binge Media, Luke and Batch dive into the world of professional wrestling for the premiere of BingeMania. What better way for you wrestling nerds to get ready for Wrestlemania than listening to Batch’s disdain for all things John Cena and Luke’s hatred of The Bushwhackers? Oh, and they break down the actual Wrestlemania card and the 2015 Hall of Fame. These guys are wrestling freaks and they don’t care who knows it.
