  • Binge Movie Aftertaste – X-Men Retrospective w/ Matthew Goudreau and Mike Batchelor: X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
Before Disney and the Marvel Cinematic Universe took over all things comic book, there was 20th Century Fox and X-Men. If someone wants to see what the comic book film landscape looked like, just take a look at 1989's Punisher and 1994's Phantom. But then came Blade (which we'll cover eventually), a movie that came out in 1998 and proved that cinematic movies based on comic books could indeed be financially successful. And after a lot of false pretenses and multiple script changes, Marvel's X-Men was finally ready to roll before cameras with little known director Bryan Singer behind the camera. Little did we know that not only would this franchise have a lot of peaks and valleys, but the Mouse House would eventually swallow its rights up whole. Will Garrett, Matt, and Batch enjoy the ride up to and through this year's Dark Phoenix?
By 2006, almost everyone associated with the X-Men was done with it. Bryan Singer had moved on to another movie about capes called Superman Returns. And all the cast were up for renegotiation, as word was that the third movie of the trilogy, X-Men: The Last Stand, was going to be it. With new director Brett Ratner signed on and The Dark Phoenix saga ready to finally leap from page to screen -much to the delight of long time X-Men readers- this would have to be the best X-Men movie yet. Right?
Join Matt, Batch, and myself as we continue this look through the X-Men series, and review our first non Bryan Singer directed entry. Will The Last Stand's budget of $168 million be enough to make fans and film audiences alike happy? Listen to find out!

  • Binge Movie Aftertaste – John Wick Retrospective w/ Jack Falvey and Alyx Ancira: John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum
From a career standpoint, the years 2004 - 2013 were not very kind to Keanu Reeves. Sure, The Matrix had made him very wealthy, and his internet reputation was about as good as a celebrity could get without Harvey Weinstein sized payoffs. But with the exception of 2005's IMO underrated Constantine, Reeves was having trouble finding a new franchise to stomp out of the gate with. 47 Ronin anyone? But along came 2014, and a little movie about a guy who killed two men with a pencil.

At the very end of our review of John Wick Chapter 2, Johnny Moreno, Jack Falvey, and I all speculated on what would happen in John Wick Chapter 3 and whether or not they could possibly follow up the last film with one at least as if not better than its predecessors. Could it be at all possible?

Join the three of us as we answer that question along with dissect the new Keanu Reeves and Halle Berry starring actionier, while also once again wondering, where the hell they could go from here?

Our watch has ended. This is it, the last Game of Thrones commentary of all time. Are we satisfied with the ending? You don't know. Nobody knows (except Bran, because he's a huge cocksucker). Come listen to Law and Moreno say goodbye to one of the most important television shows ever made. We loved it. We yelled at it. We finished it. Fuck off, Winter.

You know when you're so sick of talking about Game of Thrones you decide to do a live podcast where your audience can ask you anything and then you end up talking about Game of Thrones for half the show because what they did to Jamie's character was so freaking STUPID?!?!

There's other topics too though. Such as some classic M/F/K scenarios, our favorite BingeMedia memories, why Mike Sampson hates us, booze, love, life, cats, and dogs. We cover it all.
