Rest in peace to our first mainstream black super hero. Chadwick Boseman lost his battle with cancer and the world was shocked because we didn’t know he was sick. We all know what Marvel means to Kunta, but the world felt this loss.

17 year olds should not carry AR-15s. In fact, it is illegal to carry one. However, Kyle did. In the process of carrying this weapon, he killed two people and injured another. Why was he even in a state that he did not live in? Do we need a militia to protect businesses? Why wasn’t he arrested the night of the shootings? Many questions here. Do we think that a proper investigation will be had?

I want to separate protesters from rioters and law enforcement from militia. I don’t think these groups should be considered the same thing, nor do I think the former should suffer for the latter’s negligence and/or criminality. But was the militia perceiving that police supported their movement? Were they actually supporting it?

Lastly and most importantly, how do we feel about the Jacob Blake shooting? What warrants the use of deadly force? Was there enough of that in this scenario to excuse the police from opening fire? Kunta cites a case that provides precedent against this shooting.

Black On Both Sides Episode #96

Happy Birthday to Kobe. Kunta wants to give him flowers and wishes that the world would have given him his flowers before his passing. Other than his untimely passing, I would say that life was extremely good to Kobe. The millions he was paid in salary and endorsements seems like enough. But hey, I don’t live in LA nor was I a Kobe fan. Either way, Happy Birthday, Mamba!

The next verzuz is slated to be Monica and Brandy. Kunta didn’t think that Brandy had enough catalog to compete. However, it turns out that these two women actually have similar chartings.

The NFL does not know that the world is in crisis mode. They are carrying on business as usual. Corona or not, we will have a season.

Is anyone here for Tyson vs Jones Jr? This is the type of verzuz I want to see. Gladiator sports have always been my favorite.

Steve Bannon is headed to the big house. Is this a sign that Trump is on his way out? Should he be worried that the moment he leaves the Oval Office he will be in handcuffs?

When Barack finally got a hold of the microphone, he did something unPRESIDENTed. He went at Trumps jugular. Is this a slight vision that the Democrats look to be less soft when dealing with differences between the parties? Probably not, but I like the spunk.

Kunta promises me that Joe Biden gave fire and brimstone speech. He is even confident that Biden’s brow was furrowed and sweaty upon completion. Is there life after all in the liberal party?

Voter suppression is something that everyone needs to be cognizant of. Kunta has donated time and money to the cause. Kunta spent the better part of his Friday morning being drilled and assaulted by a ‘doctor”. This being the result of neglecting a tooth issue and just chewing on the other side. As a result, he is now certain that Dentist are not doctors and are, in fact, charlatans.

I spent my Friday trying to force feed vegan food to myself. This particular restaurant we went to left us holding a very hefty bill. Who says plants are cheap?

Jilly from Philly has been inked to play Mahalia Jackson in her biopic. Is it too late to protest this decision? I have someone in mind. And she is a gospel singer.

Who is here for the Fresh Prince reboot? A funny thing happened on the way to the writer’s room. They stopped making it funny. Good luck.

We touch on the Spanish Flu 2, Katt Williams, Breonna Taylor’s mother meeting with the AG, and vaccine talk with faucci.

Meanwhile the Post Office is overwhelmed and of course it is on purpose. Dejoy took out sorters to improve efficiency and accuracy. So we doing this by hand? Hand to hands? This is more efficient?

Kunta ordered a Marathon Mask only to be taught that life is not a sprint. He was given the marathon time table when it comes to his delivery. Many, many days later, her received his mask and wants to speak to whoever is in charge.

2 Chainz and Ross had a verzuz battle. Not sure who won. We do, however, know who wants to be next. Bow Wow has thrown his name in the hat to go against any challengers. But are there any challengers available? Who is beating Mr 106 and Park?

We come to find out that Kanye is actually running for president. But he has no intention of winning. He just wants to spoil the black vote for the Democrats. Kunta has an issue with this. Politics is stupid to me. I wish there was someone better to vote for.

Biden won’t commit to a black female VP. In fact, he visited with a white woman potential. Is he trying to lose on purpose?

Meanwhile, COVID keeps killing. In fact, now we are hitting about 1000 deaths per day. What better time to have a biker rally in South Dakota. Last year 500,000 people showed up. This year they expect up to 250,000 people. How may masks do you think will be there?

Speaking of South Dakota, guess who wants their face on the wall of Mt. Rushmore??? You only need one guess. can Russian presidents get a spot on the wall?

Black is King. The title is epic in itself. KingKunta spared no words of praise and approval of the latest work of art from Beyonce. In his words, this is the year’s best effort from a black creator. He tells us this for at least 30 minutes..thus the title. Why in the world would there be any hate for a fictional work of art? Kunta says that the Hoteps and FakeWoke crew were out in the streets ready to purge the queen.

Does Sade have an equal for Versuz? I don’t think so. And as much as I like the challenger that Timbo offered, I don’t think they are in the same universe when it comes to music.

We mourn the loss of two civil rights giants. John Lewis and C.T. Vivian both passed on this week and want to take the moment to commemorate their lives and successes.

Meanwhile, Black rappers are shooting each other in the foot. How gangster is it to shoot a woman? How gangster is it to aim for a foot? How dare the common folk joke them about this situation? Especially when August Alsina is writing future Grammy noms like “Entanglement”. How i n the world did he get Rick Ross on this song?

Nick Cannon needs to either stop hanging with People like Professor Griff (who gets him riled up enough to speak out against his financiers), or keep his personal beliefs to himself. Walk it back, Nick. This time he went far enough that when he pulled it back, he now lost support form the brotherhood. Tough spot to be in, but Diddy invited him to join the Revolt team.

The attorney general in the state of Kentucky recently got married and this is why Breonna Taylor still has no investigation into her untimely death. Why must we beg for an investigation? Shouldn’t this be a normal occurrence?

Body Snatchers in Portland? I didn’t believe it. According to reports this is confirmed by the group doing it that they are acting at the behest of the federal government. Watch your back and stay safe.

It has happened. When you turn on the oldies station nowadays, you hear all of your parents’ and grandparents’ favorite jams. But all of a sudden a familiar sound peaks your attention. Aye!!! That’s my Jam! You are well into the second verse before you realize what station you are STILL listening to. You tense up as you start to hear all of your young adulthood memories point their old aged, liver-spotted fingers at you. GASP! You’re old! And the oldies station just confirmed it.

Goya goes to the white House and (alien)ates a great majority of their customer base. That Trump money must be really good.

Your birth control may no longer be covered by your insurance. And Trump is requiring that your kids go back to school in the fall with no restrictions or risk losing fed funding. KingKunta spent all weekend celebrating how much pride he has. So much so, he showed up to record totally exhausted. He hasn’t seen this much sweat since the Spartan Race.

Nonetheless, pride and nooses are the early topics on today’s episode. Bubba Wallace found out the hard way that the noose is really effective in many uses. Most Americans would only know the one use. In fact, when have you ever seen the noose used in another way? I will wait.

Another story of police brutality against an innocent black person. Elijah McClain, young black man on the spectrum was apprehended while dancing. We have yet to hear what his crime was. Yet it doesn’t matter. He will not get to see his 23rd birthday. So far there have not been any convictions. Let’s hope something is done.

Trump is trumping. He is not willing to offer any 4 year plan in conjunction with his re-election. I hope that even his base is not willing to accept that.

KK3X is also picking Jamie Foxx over everybody black when it comes to acting. Whereas I agree that Eric Bishop is probably the most talented black entertainer, I don’t think he is the best actor. Either way, I do plan on lining up for the Mike Tyson movie that Jamie will be method acting.

Atlanta police are walking off of the job. Our opinions differ greatly on the validity of the cops’ arguments. At some point we either have to let police officers do their job or they may decide to stop doing it. fair or unfair? Imagine you are in your bedroom doing the do. You favorite Maxwell slow jam is playing, and you are putting it all the way down. The only problem is you don’t know when to stop. Under normal circumstances, it would be til the cops come knockin’. But today it is different. They aren’t coming. The walked off the job! Now yo have to just stop on your own.

Trump moved the date of his Juneteenth rally opener in Tulsa. Between that move, Corona, and his all around general dislike by more and more Americans, he only had 6,000 supporters show up. I see this as a win. Maybe, just maybe, if people get up and vote…*Whispering* We can get him the F%^$ out of the office!
