  • The C.O.W.S. Woody Allen’s Apropos of Nothing Part 6 #AntiAsianViolence
    Thursday, September 9th 8:00PM Eastern/ 5:00PM Pacific
Woody Allen confirms romance with Mia Farrow's adopted daugther Soon-Yi Previn. Published August 18, 1992.
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 5th study session on Woody Allen's Apropos of Nothing. One of the most critically acclaimed movie-makers of all time, Woody Allen is a New York City and entertainment icon. In addition to his flicks, he's a celebrated comedian, a concert-playing musician, and bestselling author - Apropos of Nothing being his most recent book. Published in 2020, the text recounts his life, celebrated career, and "romance" with Soon-Yi Previn. In addition to being non-white, adopted/abducted from Korea, and decades younger than Allen, Previn was Allen's stepchild. Despite a damning Child Protective Services investigation and years of allegations of child rape and sexual abuse of children, Allen remains beloved my hoards of Whites. We'll examine this work for what it reveals about White culture. During our last reading, Allen went on the defensive, challenging allegations that he's sexually attracted to young girls. While citing his record of dating age appropriate women, he details his courting of Diane Keaton, who starred in the Godfather saga. Allen lets us know he "dated" Keaton's two other sisters as well. He clarifies his priorities saying he was "obsessed with gangsters, baseball players, jazz musicians, and Bob Hope movies." Not young girls. Importantly, Gus maintains Allen fetishizes black male musicians and basketball players throughout the text, so his admission should be thought about.

  • NA Radio – Take Back The Bronx w/ Jessica & Jamal
Jessica Rodriquez, a member of Take Back The Bronx and works with Root & Branch Collective NYC, will join us in a discussion concerning obtaining accurate information from inside jails and prisons about the horrors of prison slavery. To that end, another group has emerged called Eyes On You NYC that is taking up some of these issues.

I am a mother and a grandmother who has a son who has been through the system his whole teenage life and adult life. All my children and grandchildren's fathers have been held captive at one point or another in these cages they call jail/ prison.

As part of the Eyes on you Committee, it is our goal to push our way into these cages to directly speak with the people who are suffering there. We want to be the eyes and ears to deliver accurate and true information about the horrors that go on inside, we want it to be told directly from those suffering. We want people released. Cages kill, we know this. They kill not only the spirits of our people but their physical bodies as well. - Jessica Rodriquez

Jamal has been a Take Back The Bronx Member since 2019, a writer, political organizer born and raised in the Bronx.

  • BTR News – Israel Causing Division With Application To The African Union
The apartheid government of Israel is causing divisions among African nations as it reapplies for observer status in the African Union.

Some of the opposition by AU member states is based on procedural issues while for others it is the Israeli treatment of Palestinians during the Israeli occupation which has lasted for over 54 years.

Israel had observer status with the Organisation of African Unity until that continental body became the African Union in 2002. African Union Commission chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat has now opened the door to Israel again however not every member state is open to the decision.

Israel wants to join a growing list of more than 90 external partners endorsed by the African Union. If approved, Israel would have limited access to AU documents and sit as an observer when invited to meetings. Accredited non-African states and organizations are expected to support the AU's work in the spirit of its founding principles.

However, the African Union as a body has called for an 'end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine that started in 1967, and also called for the independence of the state of Palestine on the boundaries of June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.'

Countries that have criticized Faki's decision claim that all African member states are unlikely to support Israel's accreditation, given the AU's political stance on Palestine.

If one African Union member state objects to a non-African state's accreditation, the AU Executive Council must decide the issue and those opposing Faki on the issue say the AU rejected two previous applications by Israel in 2013 and 2016 for this very reason. As the situation in Palestine hasn't changed, they argue, neither should Israel's status. They claim the move would be against the AU's founding principles and vision.

  • “Time for an Awakening” for Sunday 9/05/2021 at 7:00 PM (EST) Open Forum; Critical Race Theory or Critical Race Facts
“Time for an Awakening” with Bro.Elliott, Sunday 9/05/2021 at 7:00 PM Critical Race Theory or Critical Race Facts. Multiple states across the country are banning the teaching of critical race theory in schools, they say these theories distort historical events and are inconsistent with the state board standards. We compared a few historical points in our dialogue this evening. This subject and related topic was part of the discussion in Open Forum. In 2021, from the need to develop a new mindset in our communities, to our political and economic empowerment, the solution to these problems must come from us. Let’s also talk about some solutions.

  • The C.O.W.S. w/ Anitra Brown: Hurricane Ida in New Orleans
    Tuesday, September 8th 8:00PM Eastern/ 5:00PM Pacific

The Context of White Supremacy welcomes the return of Anitra Brown. Editor of the New Orleans Tribune, Brown has decades of experience as a top-notch journalist covering the "Crescent City." A New Orleans native, Brown survived Hurricane Katrina and helped the Tribune delivery powerful reporting on the myriad ways black residents were abused and purged from the city following Katrina. We'll discuss the impact of Hurricane Ida - which forced Brown to relocate to Texas.Crumbling infrastructure resulted in one million residents losing power following the storm. Many are still without power and running water. We'll ask if this event could be used to purge more black residents from the city, and the impact of climate change on a seemingly vulnerable region.

  • Abolition Today – A Burning House and The Enslaved Firemen
"I fear I am integrating my people into a burning house. Let us not stand by and let the house burn. We should become the firemen.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr as told by Harry Belafonte

The American house is ablaze. Denial is rampant. Ignorance celebrated. Propaganda propagates faster than Australian farm mice. Democracy itself is under siege by domestic terrorists in seats of power. The constitution has become a shredded farce only protected through privilege. Violent coup attempts orchestrated by the slaver class have already happened with more planned. Voter suppression, mass incarceration, civil disenfranchisement, exploitation, extortion, brutality, poverty, and institutional systemic bias are our daily bread. All while we face multiple current or impending natural disasters beyond what any generation has experienced.

In the midst of it all, a rapidly growing slavery abolitionist movement shines a beacon of reason, rings the bells of freedom, and in a season of woes, goes straight to the roots of the rotten fruit. If this nation's soul is at stake, it cannot be saved while slavery and genocide are a government-sanctioned reality. Start at the heart of the problem. The choice is freedom and equality or anarchy and ashes. The firemen are literally prisoners.

  • The C.O.W.S. Compensatory Call-In 09/04/21
    Saturday, September 4th 9:00PM Eastern/ 6:00PM Pacific

The Context of White Supremacy hosts The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog.

    #ANTIBLACKNESS

16 years to the day after Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent levee failure drowned the city of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast region, leaving more than 1,000 casualties (many of them black people), Hurricane Ida pummeled the same area. Although there was no spectacular flooding this time, the wind damage left 1 million people without power and legions without running water. There's no timetable for when New Orleans's residents will be able to return. However, "Anti-Looting Patrols" are actively securing the "Crescent City." On the west coast, wild fires forced tens of thousands to evacuate, destroyed hundreds of acres of California land, and blanketed the pacific coast with a smokey haze. Labor Day celebrations would be decidedly dampened with the numerous U.S. disasters unfolding. But with the Rona still raging, many officials recommend pausing holiday shindigs until next summer.
