The Context of White Supremacy hosts the fourth study session on Woody Allen's Apropos of Nothing. One of the most critically acclaimed directors of all time, Woody Allen is a New York City and entertainment icon. In addition to his flicks, he's performed comedy, played packed concert halls, and written books - Apropos of Nothing being his most recent. Published in 2020, the text unpacks his life, celebrated Hollywood career, and "romance" with Soon-Yi Previn. In addition to being adopted from Korea, non-white, and decades younger than Allen, Previn was Allen's stepchild. Despite a damning Child Protective Services investigation and years of allegations of child rape and sexual abuse of children, Allen remains beloved by hoards of Whites. We'll examine this work for what it reveals about White culture. Last week's session saw Allen name drop dozens of White Hollywood icons. From Jack Lemon to Mel Brooks and Jackie Gleason, Allen makes sure readers know he's been hobnobbing with entertainment royalty for decades. Allen continues his pattern of projecting sexual deviance onto White Women he's pursuing. While out to dinner with Jean, he provides a vivid description of her begging to ditch the supper table to go have sex in a dark alley just beyond the viewing public. Allen describes himself as squeamish and hesitant about this explicit display, but admits he ultimately did "succumb." He also describes his former White wife as being "supersonically promiscuous," as though Allen is a pious sexual prude.

We are also only a week away from the anniversary of the Abolish Slavery National Network. In a single year, we've made epic accomplishments never seen before in US history. Successfully changing 3 state constitutions to remove slavery exception clauses. Organizing over 30 other states to do the same within the next 4 years and introducing a joint federal amendment to counter the slavery exception clause of the 13th amendment. For the 1st time since reconstruction, slavers have to defend slavery for everyone to see and hear. Which they have done in Tennessee and Louisiana. Where state senators publicly presented their defense for keeping slavery legal.

BTR News - For a few months I have been a member of a FB group for Black Fathers and being that I have played a role in raising three daughters who have children of their own, I thought I might have something to offer the younger Black dads.

However, I suspected that the group was censuring posts about racism but could not confirm it until I had a post on a Black father concerning racism, in this case, proxy racism concerning CRT rejected. I could not believe it but then again, we are seeing some pretty strange things going on in the world.
