Annnnd we're back!!! Sorry for the unexpected break but had to take a moment to make it legit. I'm officially a BlerdDad!!! And on this episode we give thanks and chat with the person that helped our birthing vision become reality.
Ryann Morales has been attending births since 2012 and has been to over 750 births. She graduated from Birthwise Midwifery School and became a Certified Professional Midwife in 2017 and attends births in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Ryann attends births as a home birth midwife and also provides doula support for home and hospital births.. She provides DC-area families with an intimate, tailored experience.
Ryann pronounces her name [ryan], like the boy’s name (her mom named her after the old soap opera, Ryan’s Hope, and Ryann suspects the extra “n” was added just to make it confusing). She lives in Alexandria with her husband, three kids, dog, mother in law, and tia (auntie). In her free time, Ryann enjoys hiking, skiing, paddleboarding, CrossFit, and running—often with her kids.
We will talk home births and babies. You won't want to miss this one!!!

This week we chat with good friend of mine Rob Medina. He is a loving husband and father of a 14 year old boy, 2 dogs and a lovebird named Chicken.
We have great discussion and he gives me some excellent advice for handling delivery room pressure.
This week my momma gives me some advice! RYCJ is an avid reader, reviewer, poet, author, illustrator, book blogger, independent publisher and a writer whose work is a must to be experienced. Born from a family of Griots and storytellers, the best advice she gained at 4-years old after announcing she wanted to be a writer, was that she would need plenty of life experiences. And that she got. She has worked in corporate, banking, higher education, as an entrepreneur…was editor and producer of two widely-circulated newsletters and is the founder of OSAAT Entertainment - an independent publishing company created in 2009. In a mosaic of genres, from memoir to several novels; spiritual, historical, multicultural, erotic, and romance series, she is the author of 25 books…the most recent, Babies Raising Babies, as she also is a mother and wife. Sometimes it's not enough to simply refer to RYCJ as a book lover. To read her work, is to encounter a literary experience.
THIS WEEK we speak to Philadelphia comedian Coleman Green. He is a rising star and is no stranger to stage, small and large screen.
Gracing the stages of many venues and clubs, Coleman somehow manages to find the common link between all races, ethnicities, cultures, and incomes; that makes us all think and laugh.
He is a stand-up comedian, actor, writer and producer of his own animation series. He has the ability when needed, to bring his comedy into the roles that he portrays.
His ability to make you laugh is certainly a talent that can not be taught. Not every comedian can have CEO's, top officials and everyday people bend over in laughter about his life and family. Coleman somehow finds that common link between all colors, race, ethnicities, cultures and incomes to make us all think and laugh.
On this week’s BONUS episode we talk with Larry Starks. Comedian Larry Starks has been acting, producing content, writing, and performing stand up comedy for over 9 years. After numerous requests to hit the stage from friends and family, Larry finally gave it a shot. As a result popularity gained from around town being “The funny guy” he didn't have to perform at the usual open mic to get his shot. Larry's first time ever performing stand up comedy on stage was his own show to a sold out crowd. Still working in the open mic circuit to enhance his craft he worked his way to being a paid regular at Comedy Off Broadway (his home club). Along with making a name for himself in standup comedy, he is also making a name for himself in the social media world creating comedy content that went viral several times generating millions of views. Content that has made several blogs and websites such as worldstarhiphop.com and Comedy hype even working on several occasions with the social media juggernaut Russel Simmons' All Def Digital.
