In the two most recent decades of his career Scorsese has directed sixteen features, produced three times as much film and television, brought two actors out of retirement, and created half of DiCaprio’s highlight reel. He can do almost anything other than make De Niro look like he’s in his thirties. Alex and Nick don’t even get into it though as they conclude their discussion on one of Blockbuster Film School’s favorite directors, our great Martin Scorsese.

After making a dozen films and gaining the attention of the world, what would you do? If you’re Martin Scorsese you make arguably the greatest gangster movie of all time. Additionally he spent the 90s making an eclectic group of films more diverse than most directors entire portfolios. Scorsese cemented himself as artist who could weave between period dramas, meditation pieces, and an ahead of its time psychedelic paramedic film that is an exercise in existential dread all without compromising style or how large of glasses he could put “older” De Niro in.
