❌ Kuwait has prohibited the use of crypto for payments or investment to combat money laundering, according to a circular by the country’s financial regulator issued on Monday. Official info here https://lnkd.in/ds4s5fpz The Capital Markets Authority also placed an “absolute” ban on all digital asset mining, prohibited the recognition of crypto as a decentralized currency, and also warned the public that companies are not allowed to provide any type of crypto-related services.

The eight applicants are BlackRock’s iShares ETF filed on Nasdaq, Bitwise Inc’s Bitcoin ETP Trust filed on NYSE Arca and six others filed on the Cboe Global Markets Fidelity Investments’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Trust, WisdomTree Asset Management Bitcoin Trust, VanEck Bitcoin Strategy ETF, Invesco US Galaxy Bitcoin ETF, ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF and Valkyrie Bitcoin Strategy ETF. The transactions occurred on July 12 and resulted in the distribution of the Bitcoin to at least 101 new wallets. The purpose of these transactions is currently unclear. It includes an Information-Sharing Agreement that goes beyond what is typically seen in public filings for Bitcoin ETFs.
