Tony Marsico is a true rock n roll legend. The outstanding bass player and songwriter moved from Philadelphia to Los Angeles and it didn't take long for him to find himself in The Plugz, a band that was part of a blossoming punk scene in the late seventies. When The Plugz spilt up, he stayed with fellow members and formed Cruzados, who were signed to Arista Records by the great Clive Davis. He went on to play with Matthew Sweet for ten years and has played with numerous bands and on numerous records with multiple artists, including his own lounge band, The Martini Kings, who have released 25 albums. He has also written four books and produced two films and did we mention that Tony reformed Cruzados and they sound as great as ever. Fun guest with a true rock n roller, enjoy!

Loren Molinare started his rock n roll journey in Lansing Michigan in the early 70's and has been going hard ever since. Trials and tribulations, ups and downs, deals that came and went, but the perseverance has kept the rock n roll dream alive. Although there are other bands named The Dogs, the one that was there at the beginning of punk rock was the one from Lansing and their story is not done yet. Loren was part of the big deal Little Caesar got from Geffen Records in the late 80's that didn't end well, but still brings the blues infused rock with his comrades in that unit as well. More recently, he finds himself playing with the rejuvenated Cruzados, who have deep LA roots with their own brand of Motorcycle Rock. Its a great story, one you want to listen to...

Stop Calling Me Frank, the band with the curious name, started playing out in 1984 and even had a single, but it wasn't until 2019 that they released their first full length album. Since they have become one of Boston's hardest working bands. It's an interesting story about a bunch of guys, none of which are named "Frank". On this episode we are joined by Terry O’Malley, Dan Caspariello, and founding member drummer Eddie Barese to hear their side of the story.
We also talk about the seemingly overnight disbanding of one of America's foremost and longest running political punk bands - Anti-Flag - a breakup that leaves us with a lot of unanswered questions.

We also talk about the "Elemental Child" double album, which will benefit the Light and Love Foundation specifically to make a bore hole at the Marc Bolan School Of Music in Sierra Leone for the kids to access to clean drinking water, and we play the title track covered brilliantly by The Charms. And if that's not enough, Crystal Canyon's fantastic track "Judy Moody" will put you in the mood... Just another fun show from the rock n roll lovers at Blowing Smoke with Twisted Rico!

A chance meeting between Todd Philips and Kenny Chambers at a Dag Nasty all ages show at TT The Bears in Cambridge MA in 1987 led to a series of events that started with the seventeen year old drummer playing with Moving Targets. From that point on, Todd toured with The Lemonheads and then became a member of two outstanding bands - Bullet LaVolta and The Juliana Hatfield Three. Todd joins us on the show and fills in all the details(well most of them)....it's a good one! Enjoy!

Matt and Louis from the really cool Brighton UK band Harker, which formed in 2015 and sound like a band that could have been on Discord Records in 1986, join us to talk about their history and new recordings which have garnered a great reaction from their fans and the press and even us! We play a couple of the new tunes including "Wasting Time" which Muse Chronicle was quoted as saying, “The track’s raw energy and infectious melody make it impossible not to tap your feet and head bang.“ We agree.
