On this episode of the podcast, long Boston area club booker and musician Mickey Bliss shares some fabulous stories from when he started playing shows in the old Combat Zone in Boston in the late seventies, to his 26 years as a club booker for The Kirkland Cafe in Somerville MA and then Club Bohemia downstairs at The Cantab Lounge in Central Square in Cambridge Ma. In one story, which has an hilarious ending, Mickey recalls brawling with another former Boston area booker Martin Doyle. We also play Mickey's still popular single "Cocktails For Two."

On this episode of Blowing Smoke with Twisted Rico, Erich Thaler remembers his early days in the Spokane WA music scene and the journey that brought him to Boston, where he found success with Stompbox, who landed a major label record deal with Columbia. In the early 90's Stompbox was one of the most popular bands in the Boston scene but things unraveled which led to some dark times for Thaler. He rebounded with the band D-CON but once that project disbanded moved on the California, got straight, and he rebuilt his life.

Also a few words about the passing of New York Dolls guitarist Sylvain Sylvain, who played some memorable solo shows over the years(including The Abbey Lounge in Somerville) and was a bright light when The New York Dolls reunited and toured America a few years back for the first time since the early Seventies.
