This Friday, March 15th, the students of Johnstown Christian School will pack over 10,000 nutritionally-balanced meals. The meals will be shipped overseas for families and children in need.

The school partners with an organization called The Champion Group to help make it all happen. 

It is the 5th year the school has been involved in this program!

We talked to Amy Baglio of the Somerset Rotary Club. 

She talked about the work of the rotary and looked to the future of the organization. 

They took many event in our area including an American Red Cross blood drive this Wednesday!

Cuddles For Kids is a 501C3 Nonprofit founded in 2006. 

Since then, they have donated over one million dollars worth of items to hospitals and children’s organizations in PA and around the world. 

They have also issued more than $75,000 worth of grants and scholarships. 

Their next event is a Freshen Up For Spring Event this Saturday!

The 3rd Annual “Yappy Hour” in memory of Cathy Klucik and her love of animals is this Saturday at The Windber Hotel

 All money raised will be donated to the Somerset County Humane Society. 

 Basket raffle tickets will be sold starting at 12pm until 630pm. Drawings will begin at 7.

 Our own Bo Moore will be performing with Tucker Moore starting at 8.

 In the last two years, they have been able to donate $11,500 to the Somerset County Humane Society!

Vision Together 2025 is a group that has a simple mission "make Johnstown a great place to live, work, and play"

They have  a number of projects in the works to continue that mission.

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. They work with area kids, providing a voice for them throughout the court system. 

A CASA volunteer is a highly screened, vetted, and trained and can help a kid in so many ways.

Dr. Jill Henning, Professor of Biology at University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, is the head of four UPJ professors who secured $115,000 in funding to develop a substance to help prevent lyme disease.

Dr. Henning also recently received the 2023 Graduate School of Public Health for Pitt Alumni award for her work with COVID vaccination in rural counties..

Author Robert Forte will be at Classic Elements in Johnstown on Saturday  from 2-4 to read his book, A Tale Of Christmas. 

Santa will also be at the shop and FREE hot chocolate for kids, it's a great event for the little ones in your family.

If you have ever been to Thunder In The Valley, chances are you know Jasmine Cain. 

She is coming back to Town this Thursday for a very special show at Columba Theatre Project in Cambria City, Johnstown. 

The Columba Theater is one of several former churches in Cambria City now being used for the performing arts in our community. 

A percentage of each ticket sold for this Thursday’s show goes back to the Columba Theater.
