It’s our first podcast of the new year, and the crew has gathered around the microphone (and the fireplace) to talk about 2017! With so many games set to release next year and the hype already building for a number of different projects, Adam has a lot of questions for the boys. What games are we most excited about? What theme would you like to see more of this year? What in the world is Fantasy Flight going to do with the Star Wars IP now? 2017 is already shaping up to be an exciting year! And to top it all of… Adam and Seth review a party game that will have men pretending to be women, women pretending to be men and everyone just trying to make sure they are the pretties one at the ball.

The crew takes a look back at the year 2016. Though many games were played, only a select few were privileged enough to make it onto our annual lists of favorite things. So settle into your favorite chair, grab a cup of hot cocoa and join us as we discuss our favorite Overall Games, Artwork, Components, Mechanics, Card Games, Themes and Experiences from the wealth of tabletop adventures we had this year.

Selling enormous swine, combating evil Santas and throwing small knives at little wooden zombies are just a few of the activities discussed on Episode 39. Seth and Adam are left to hold down the fort while Steven is away spreading holiday cheer to the entire state of Wyoming, and the pair waste no time diving into exciting news surrounding not one but two of their favorite games. Glowing reviews are then awarded to a few games you should defiantly consider adding to your collection as well as one lukewarm look at a game that may have a slightly smaller audience. Then to wrap it all up like the perfect gift for that person that is just so hard to shop for… they release some hotly anticipated details surrounding the super secret “Operation Kyber Crystal” and elaborate on the power of custom fabricated dice.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the crew has loaded their tabletop gaming plate to the brim with enough board game shenanigans to choke a turkey. The crew starts the show off with a hearty serving of what they have been playing that includes a second helping of one of their favorite games. The boys then discuss the often awkward and equally awesome interactions you have when friends and family get together to play social deduction games. Seth’s taste in games seems to contradict the others as he defends a game we had written off… and furthermore, he contests that this very popular party game actually plays best with two! So grab some leftovers, settle into your favorite lazy boy and treat your ears to a very tasty episode of the Board Game Point of View.

In a jam-packed episode, the crew find themselves at odds with each other over three very compelling games… and one that may need to hit the trail. The show first saddles up with a run down of a card game based on a beloved computer IP. Will nostalgia win the hearts of our board game pioneers, or will someone be left up the river without a paddle? The gang then circles the wagons to talk about the pros and cons of hosting a game club and composes a list of thing to consider before starting your own. The party then traverses the peaks and valleys of three games they have been anxiously waiting to play. However, will they regret embarking on their tabletop adventure? Tune in to find out!

In this very special episode, the crew looks exclusively at a slew of kickstarter games and the improving production quality of crowd funded ventures. With Halloween right around the corner, they start by discussing a simple social deduction game that may find you dancing with a vampire. Then Steven flexes his linguistic prowess with a genius level run down of a game about everyone’s favorite theoretical physicist. A miniatures game has them all clambering at their screens for a dungeon crawl set in the nightmarish future. The show then concludes with a look at some up and coming RPG systems set in fantastic universes, every day life and somewhere in between.

The crew reforms like the mighty morphin, mega mechanical, podcasting beast they are for the first time in almost two months and brings with them a ranger sized portion of enthusiastic reviews. Steven drops a one-two punch on the listeners with a rundown of his tales from the cockpit and his second life as head of the church. Seth then unleashes a roundhouse of wisdom and vocal impersonations right to the eardrums. And the whole team delivers the final blow with an unboxing of the new hotness (a.k.a. Seafall)… and then cools down with a thorough stroll through a medieval village.

Adam and Seth are left scratching their heads when Steven fails to show up for the podcast. Through a series of scrambled communications they discover clues as to his whereabouts and who may be behind his mysterious disappearance. Pushing onward, the two remaining members of the cast tap into their new found love for role playing and talk about narrative in games. Adam walks through his first impressions of Pandemic Legacy, and Seth dives into the glut of RPG related podcasts he’s been following. The show then wraps with the return of Alex Eding’s narrative readings before the boys discuss their new found love for speleology.

Without a moderator, it is a dark time for the podcast. Although the One Star (review) has been destroyed, Fantasy Flight‘s Star Wars games have driven the cast from their hidden base and pursued them across the galaxy. Evading the dreaded echo chamber, Steven and Seth have established a new secret base in the remote blanket fort. The evil lord Bot Creator, obsessed with tweeting the young crew, has dispatched thousands of remote probes into the far reaches of cyber space….

Demon horses, ancient sand storms and one very cantankerous sea witch invade Episode 32 of the podcast, and the crew could not be more excited. In lieu of overcoming such a formidable lineup of adversaries, Steven starts the show off with training techniques to prepare for such a journey. In the meantime, Seth and Adam nearly come to blows over their mutual love for a secret society established to undermine the evil equestrian overlords. The team then wanders into a forbidden desert and is left scrambling for the mad shade of Mr. Matt Leacock himself. The adventure then concludes with a lighthearted trip to a magical island filled with peace-loving mermaids… or was it the ocean? We’re still not sure? So grab your shovels and magic wands, because we just may need your help navigating epic episode.
