This week, Bob and The Count are joined by Kitsie Duncan. She hosts the popular Amazon Prime show, Oddity Files and a paranormal podcast of the same name. Sharing stories of some of her travels, we talk about her work as a paranormal investigator. We also discuss her new book available now on Amazon and Barnes and Noble online called, "I'd Rather Talk to Dead People".
Driving can be a relaxing pass time. Crank up your radio, listen to music or perhaps your favorite podcast. However, every time you drive there is a certain level of fear. Lots can go wrong including even just a repair or a flat tire. This year for Fearsgiving, we talk about about cars and the metaphysical. Haunted cars like the Bonnie and Clyde car, or cursed cars like the James Dean car. Bob even breaks the rules a little bit to talk about Lincoln's ghost train. Joining us this week is James from Peoria and host of The Dragon's Inn Podcast. James does his best Bob After Dark Impressions too!
If you're a fan of Bob After Dark, then you know his voice. Jack Chavez is a paranormal enthusiast, tour guide around Chicago, and soon to be author. He joins the show this week talking about his upcoming book. There's a creature in creepypasta lore named The Rake. Even though that particular creature is based in myth, there are sightings out there of very similar creatures.
This is the one you have all been waiting for. In celebration of Episode 50, we are talking about Bob’s favorite paranormal story of all time. On December 15, 1967, in a small town of Point Pleasant West Virginia, the Silver Bridge collapsed, and unfortunately ended the lives of many individuals. It was, at the time the worst bridge disaster in American history. Events leading up to the unfortunate moment around the town were very bizarre. Many folks claimed they were being visited by a strange entity known as the Mothman. A tall figure with black and grey tones with a long wingspan and red glowing eyes. Throughout this episode, we uncover the history of the Mothman, and how even to this day there are reports of sightings in Chicago. Bob even shares his encounter that kick-started his paranormal career. Joining Bob and Count Panek is Meg Viola. Creator of the animated movie, Attack of the Mothman.
It is Halloween, Children of the Night. You can feel it in the air. Pumpkins are carved, costumes are being prepped to be worn. The Veil…is at its thinnest. Here at Bob After Dark, we tend to celebrate all year round. So, how do we make a Halloween edition of the show? We need to pick out a classic story and bring a special guest on. In the first half of the show, we have a sit-down discussion with Illusionist Joe Diamond. Giving us a little inside peek at how his career has changed since Covid began. Joe also plays a few card tricks, and does some long distance mind reading with our viewers. Also, his haunted doll Flora joins in and and scares Bob up a bit. The second half of the show involves a classic tale of fear. From the Halloween Parade at Disney World to the Wild Hunt in ancient times, the story of the Headless Horseman terrorizes people for centuries. We look at the classic story written by Washington Irving, and the other lore surrounding it. Including a headless horsemen ghost sighting in Chicago.
This week on Bob After Dark, the team is celebrating their two year anniversary of being an entity! To help celebrate, Anthony joins VIA Zoom. With the Bob After Dark team reunited, the boys are talking zombies. They are coming to get you, Barbara. When there is no more room in Hell, the dead shall walk the Earth. CHOKE ON IT! All classic lines from from some of the best zombie movies Hollywood has to offer. From Night of the Living Dead, to Dawn of the Dead, and even Return of the Living Dead these movies paint a picture of a walking corpse with the taste for flesh. However, these creatures have lore that date back centuries before George A Romero took them to the silver screen. A lesson on the Voodoo cultures take on the zombie is taught.
There are few places in the world that can bring that certain spooky factor as a swamp can. Hollywood has made movies about the muggy wetland. From Shrek to Creature from the Black Lagoon, the idea is burned into our memories from a young age to stay out of the swamps. This week, we pay homage to the swamp monsters within our folklore. We discuss the Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp, Moss Man, and Jake the Alligator Man.
