This week I decided to share with you just a few of the books that have truly shifted my life. When I say they shifted my life, I mean I connected with the words in them so much so, that I actually made conscious changes in the way I work, parent, speak, feel, and behave. These books have truly impacted me in my journey of authenticity.
Below are the books I talk about in this episode. I encourage you to go to your locally owned book store if you want to get a copy for yourself, but since I can't link to every privately owned bookstore, I will provide links to Barnes & Noble!
The first book I talk about is Untamed by Glennon Doyle. I have literally quoted this book to my children. Glennon's ability to speak to the woman I used to be while also speaking to the woman I am, and strive to be, is nothing short of miraculous. She shares deeply personal stories that have given me a better understanding of some of the things I have endured, and somehow also given me permission to be better. To fight harder for my right, and my kids' right to be authentic... whatever they decide that means. This book is a must have for anyone who wants to understand their feeling, feel seen, or just needs to connect with something.

The next book is White Fragility by Robin Diangelo. This book literally shifted my understanding of racism, and opened my eyes to the role I have played as a white woman in our racist society. This book provided me with the understanding that I need to make many, many changes in my life in order to actively choose to live an anti-racist life, and ways to fight against racism in tangible ways. I encourage anyone who is white, or anyone at all, to read this book.

During this conversation, I also talked about a great book I read with my kids to teach them to recognize and stand up against racism when they see it. This book is called How To Be An Antiracist Family by Martin Sekkat.

The next book I talk about is for all my entrepreneurs out there. The One Thing by Gary Keller with Jay Papasan is just so amazing. This book helped me recover from being a multi-tasker and opened my eyes to what it means to be focused, and organized. I have also quoted this book to my children during parenting conversations.

Lastly, I talked about the book Get Out Of Your Own Way by Dave Hollis. Anybody who knows me knows I follow Dave Hollis consistently and have really learned so much from him. But, before he entered the personal growth world, I had never heard from him. This book is written as a self help book from the skeptics point of view. Despite the fact that I am not a skeptic, I appreciated his honesty in sharing his struggles, and what really helped him to create powerful, necessary change.
