As a music therapist, Marya has worked with at risk youth, addiction recovery, mental health, hospice, autism, and many other special needs communities. She has also been a performing musician and active in theatre.

Her list on how to be a bold business woman is;  (1. Ask for what I want  (2. Say no regularly (3. Don't take others' upset at my 'NO' personally (4. Prioritize self care - because that will make me the most powerful version of me.  She encourages women everywhere to become familiar with their cycles and keep a womb journal, just write a word or few sentences about how your womb feels every day for a full month. By listening to your body, your power and joy will show itself to you in greater and clearer ways than you may have imagined.

"Age wise, I was pre-Title 9, just before Affirmative Action... people cared much more about how I was going to do business than what I was going to do."

Dr. Annie Bruns is a researcher and educator motivated by questions at the intersection of mental health and technology. She teaches at CU Boulder and encourages her students to do media fasts, track their emotional and mental response to such regulation, and challenge the norm of addicted behaviors concerning technology.
