On January 13th 2012, the Italian cruise ship Costa Concordia struck an underwater rock after the captain made some extremely poor decisions. Much of this disaster could have been avoided if the captain had told the passengers of the ship what was going on, but instead he lied to everyone around him.  It was the worst cruise disaster since the Titanic.
