Part of what makes a college football upset so exciting is watching the students celebrate in ways that only the youthful can. Just this year, Vanderbilt fans carried a goalpost through Nashville after upsetting then #1 ranked Alabama at home. Here is Thomas Sherrill’s recollection of how Appalachian State students celebrated in 2007 after upsetting Michigan, carrying the school’s goalpost around campus and eventually to then Chancellor Kenneth Peacock’s house. Students celebrating a college football win is part of what makes college football so great. Here is how Appalachian State alumni remember celebrating the biggest upset in college football history.
