    Turning Struggles Into Superpowers

    About Victoria B. Thompson

Hi, I’m Victoria B. Thompson—Air Force veteran, single mom of three, entrepreneur, and advocate for mindful, purpose-driven living. My story is one of transformation, resilience, and faith. After serving 11 years in the Air Force as a Special Security Representative, I transitioned into civilian life, balancing motherhood, a federal career, and multiple businesses all while learning what it truly means to live in peace without losing ambition.

A major turning point came in 2018 when a health scare pushed me to slow down and realign my life. That moment sparked a journey into mindfulness, meditation, and the Law of Attraction—tools that helped me rebuild from the inside out. Since then, I’ve made it my mission to help others do the same: to create balance, build legacy, and walk in purpose.

I’m the author of Passing the Baton: The Secrets to Purpose-Driven Networking, a book that redefines what it means to connect with others by focusing on values, legacy, and alignment—not just opportunity. I’ve also written Seven Shades of Healing: A Journey to Wellness and Rainbow Adventures: Balance Your Superpowers, two journals designed to help adults and children explore emotional wellness.

From opening a halfway house for veteran single mothers to launching multiple family-run businesses, I’ve learned that peace and progress can coexist. My message is simple: you can live boldly, build meaningfully, and still rest in peace while doing it.

I’d love to bring that message to your podcast—to share stories, lessons, and practical strategies for creating authentic connections, resilient mindsets, and lives built on purpose rather than pressure.

  • Book 101 Review, now in its sixth season, proudly features Brooke Susanne Barrett as a special guest an inspiring children’s author, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and parent coach dedicated to helping families develop emotional flexibility thro

    Brooke Barrett

Children’s Author, BCBA & Parent Coach teaching families emotional flexibility through story and science

Brooke Barrett is a BCBA, parent coach, and author of The Oaklings children’s book series. She helps parents and kids build emotional resilience by blending behavioral science, ACT, and story-based learning. Her work empowers families to navigate big emotions with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

When I became a mother, my life filled with more love than I ever thought possible. It felt bright, hopeful, and deeply meaningful. I was passionate about creating a nurturing, supportive home for my children.

But as the early years unfolded, I also found myself overwhelmed. Between sleepless nights, big emotions, competing demands, and my own internal expectations, I became stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-judgment, and avoidance. I loved my children deeply, yet there were moments when I felt disconnected from the way I wanted to show up.

As both a mother and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, I began turning toward my own training—especially process-based supports grounded in functional contextualism and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with me?” I started asking, “What’s happening in my context right now?” That shift opened the door to compassion, flexibility, and choice.

Through learning and practicing the six core ACT processes, I began building my own psychological flexibility. I learned how to notice my thoughts without getting trapped in them, make space for difficult emotions, reconnect with my values, and take small, meaningful actions—even in hard moments.

As this work transformed my inner world, I started bringing it into my family life through shared language, simple practices, and everyday conversations. I watched my children begin to name their feelings, understand their thoughts, and approach challenges with more resilience. Our home culture shifted toward greater understanding, connection, and emotional safety.

    Tom Snow

Tom Snow - Head of Just To Be Clear Teaching Series

Tom is a conservative believer and not part of any organized religion or denomination. He has many stories about the miraculous power of God working in and through his life over the last 56 years. Including how God brought him through being a suicidal teenage alcoholic, when he was terminally ill with cancer after his mother had just died of cancer, and the trauma he endured.

After meeting the Lord and being miraculously healed at age 16, he dedicated his life to God. Not only as an engineer running his own successful Software Design Company for 45 years; but at the same time living through an abusive marriage, being a leader in local churches, and living through severe leadership and church abuse and trauma.

In the last year, he's published 3 books detailing many of these things.

"The Daily Stand:: A Spiritual Warfare Instruction Manual for Today and the Upcoming Next Great Move of God" which discusses how we must first learn to walk in God's Anointing before we can ever stand in His Authority.

"Set the Captives Free:: Freedom. Are You Willing to Pay the Price?" which discusses how believers have come under bondage and in captivity in the churches and how to be set free.

And, "Set the Captives Free Too:: Evil's Great Masquerade: Divine Light or Deceptive Woo?" which discusses how false spirituality has overtaken the world and many believers and in many churches creating bondage and captivity; and again, how to be set free.
