Book Cult

On this episode we are talking about the classic sci-fi romance, The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. Warning: this book discusses suicide and miscarriages. This book is really long and so much happens so stick with us because it is pretty wild and you get to hear us try to figure out science and realize that Sydney knows very little about the development of a fetus. No corrections needed, thanks though.

Just imagine Zac Efron. We walked all the way across the country for a secret reason and you won't know until you listen to us talk about The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks. This book has an obvious villain and the bestest boy, in the background is a love story based on trauma bonding. Listen for the romance?

In this mini we go over Nicholas Spark's career and how he became the force in literature he is today. We also talk about how pretentious we were as teens and then get into a longer than necessary discussion about body hair, so enjoy!

On this episode we're talking about the modern masterpiece, Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. This book does talk about child abuse and sexual abuse so there is some discussion of that in this episode. This book is funnier than expected and there is so much to talk about so listen for all the spicy details. Laters Baby ;)

This movie might be iconic but is the book better? We don’t know because we’ve never seen the movie. If you like books where it is a little annoying, then very sad and sweet and then ends with one of the most inappropriate endings then listen to this episode!

Watch She's the Man for Dirty Little Secrets by All American Rejects and listen to this episode for a confusing description of Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare (why so many characters Will?)

Today's episode is a little different, you get two books at once! Delaney read Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul and Sydney read Chicken Soup for the Prisoner's Soul and, while none of these books actually gave us soup recipes, we still share what we learned. Listen for a surprise celeb trying to buy a dog, lots of Jesus saving inmates, and lots of fun dog names.

On this episode Delaney takes us through the life of Sir Terry Pratchett, author of the Disc World series. He got published as a teenager and went on to have a prolific writing career leading to him getting knighted by the Queen for his work in literature, just in case you felt bad about not accomplishing anything.
