This month we're reading Boy Swallows Universe, the award-winning, first-time novel by Australian author Trent Dalton.
Inspired by Trent's own childhood, Boy Swallows Universe is a tale of love, crime, magic, fate and coming of age, all set against the backdrop of 1980s working-class, suburban Brisbane. If you're anything like us, this book will get in your head, and there it will stay.
Join us for a chat (and a cry? I'm guessing?) at the end of the month.
Happy reading!
This month we read the extremely-hot-right-now Children of Blood and Bone, by Tomi Adeyemi.
Join us as we talk magical world-building, the passion of teens, and how much we can't wait for the upcoming movie adaptation (very much we can't wait).

This month we're devouring Children of Blood and Bone - a 2018 young adult fantasy novel by Nigerian-American novelist Tomi Adeyemi.
A New York Times Bestseller, and a feature of just about every "Best of YA" list from last year, this is a story about standing up to power, protecting the people you love, and coming to terms with your own strength.
Read along, and join us for a magical chat at the end of the month.
Happy Reading!
This month we read the award-winning and much-raved-about Normal People, a 2018 novel by Irish author Sally Rooney.
A modern love story about how one person can profoundly change another person's life, this book gave us loads to talk about, and lots of feelings.
Join us to find out whether Normal People stacks up to those mountains of good reviews, which character captured our collective hearts, and how tall Ben is compared to the boys of One Direction.

You've read the book, now join us as we watch the movie!
Come and roll around in all of your teenage feelings, and hear us talk about our love for Pia Miranda, Laura's lust for Anthony LaPaglia (keep it together, girl), and the legend of the shark tooth necklace.
WE JUST LOVE THIS MOVIE, OK?!
This month we're tackling Normal People, a 2018 novel by Irish author Sally Rooney.
Normal People was long-listed for the 2018 Man Booker Prize (fancy), and Rooney has been hailed as "a Salinger for the snapchat generation". We're not exactly sure what that means, but it sounds like catnip for Laura, so we're into it.
We are really excited to read this one, Bookworms, so read along with us, and we'll see you back here to talk about it at the end of April.
Happy Reading!
Order yourself a cappuccino and grab a seat in the good room, because it's time to talk about the quintessential coming-of-age novel (and according to Laura, "the greatest piece of Australian literature ever written") Looking for Alibrandi, by Melina Marchetta.
Serving up complex characters, multigenerational stories and a PAINFULLY accurate depiction of what it feels like to be a teen, there's a reason this book is a classic. Let's find out if it's as good as Laura and Fiona remember, if Ben can get on board as a first-time reader, and whether Pia Miranda ever agreed to watch the movie with us (hi, Pia, we love you).
PLUS find out what we're reading in April.

Grab a hanky, pop on some waterproof mascara, and make sure you hydrate, because this month we're discussing Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman, and TEARS WILL BE SHED.
This is a beautifully written book about loneliness, kindness, friendship, and the healing power of cats that, spoilers, we LOVED. If you haven't read it yet, please do yourself a favour, then come back and listen to us talk about jerkins, the magic of Tesco, and which character Reese Witherspoon should play in her upcoming book-to-screen adaptation (plus other stuff).
PLUS find out which beloved Australian classic we'll be reading in March.

Happy Valentine's Day, book lovers!
Are you a lover of love? A connoisseur of courtship?
In celebration of this special day, Laura is putting on a quiz. Find out how well you know your literary love stories, and if you can score higher than Ben and Fiona (you probably can).
Happy (book) loving!
This month we're reading Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, the 2017 debut novel by Gail Honeyman.
SPOILER: WE LOVE THIS BOOK. Read it.
We'll be back and ready to talk (through our tears) at the end of February. Happy Reading!
