This month we're reading The Farm - the much-hyped debut novel from Joanne Ramos, and we're wondering if we can borrow your high school ethics textbook? Thanks so much.
The Blurb:
Nestled in the Hudson Valley is a sumptuous retreat boasting every amenity: organic meals, private fitness trainers, daily massages—and all of it for free. In fact, you get paid big money. The catch? For nine months, you belong to the Farm, as you dedicate yourself to the all-consuming task of producing the perfect baby for your überwealthy clients.
This is a book about class, race, privilege, and how far a woman will go to secure a future for herself and her family.
Get reading, Bookworms, and we'll see you back here at the end of November.
It's time to pop on your tortoiseshell glasses and grab a plate of chicken wings, because we just read The Goldfinch, the (quite polarising) 2013 novel by Donna Tartt, and we can't WAIT to talk to you about it.
Set in New York, Las Vegas, and Amsterdam, this sprawling (read: quite long) novel follows Theo Decker, a 13-year-old whose life takes a sudden turn after a terrorist attack at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The book follows Theo's life as he discovers love, loss, and heaps of drugs, and it gave us a chest-on-chest full of things to talk about.
The Goldfinch is Laura's actual favourite book, so come and find out if it's as good as she remembered, if the rest of the gang were into it, and if our casting is as good as Hollywood's (of course it is, come on now).
Happy Listening!

Have you loved Book Who's Talking since it was a tiny podcast baby, and wish you could relive some of your favourite moments? Or are you new to the show and wish you could listen to some highlights from the back catalogue? Or are you just missing us, and want more of our dulcet tone in your ear holes?
Whoever you are, Bookworms, it's your lucky day!
While we all make our way through The (let's be honest, quite hefty) Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, we're bringing you our first ever clip episode. Some of the best moments from the last almost-three-years of Book Who's Talking, and a look back on some of our favourite and least favourite reads.
Let us know if you have a favourite moment from the podcast that we missed, and definitely get in touch if you want a book recommendation. We have at LEAST 32 to choose from.
We're reading a big boy this time, bookworms, so we're giving you a WHOLE extra month to do your homework.
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt - winner of a Pulitzer Prize, the basis of a star-studded movie adaptation, and not to mention Laura's *actual* favourite book. It's long, it's divisive, and it's well worth reading.
WARNING: Dropping this book on your face while reading in bed could cause serious and permanent injury. It's heavy.
We'll see you for some serious Goldfinch chat at the end of October, and for a little something fun at the end of September.
Happy reading!
Don't forget to slip - slop - slap, Bookworms, because this month we're heading out bush and reading The Dry, the 2016 debut novel by Australian author Jane Harper.
Full of murder, mystery and small town politics, The Dry will keep you guessing, and also keep you waving your hand in front of your face because you can just *FEEL* those flies trying to get in your mouth, don't you reckon?
Feel the heat (it just seems so hot), and find out why we honestly can't wait for the movie adaptation that's coming our way.

It's mystery time, Bookworms!
This month we're reading The Dry, an atmospheric page-turner by Australian author Jane Harper.
Join Federal Police investigator Aaron Falk as he reluctantly goes back to his home town to investigate the murder of his childhood best friend. As Aaron gets deeper in the investigation, it becomes clear that this small town is hiding some big secrets.
We'll see you at the end of the month, Happy Reading!
Hold on to your (baseball) hats, Bookworms, because this month we read the best-selling modern romance Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes.
Full of believable, flawed characters and snappy dialogue, this is a book about finding yourself, finding love, and finding out what the yips even are.
Described by our very own Fiona as "a coming-of-age novel about a grown-up", this is one that D I V I D E D the podcast. So come and hear our thoughts on baseball, best friends, and sexy consent, and then be sure to let us know which side you're on.

The ladies of Monterey are back, and so are we! Albeit with fewer secrets, pant suits, and shower wigs. "What's a shower wig?" we hear you ask? You'll have to listen to find out.
We're re-capping Season 2 of the originally-based-on-a-book smash hit TV show Big Little Lies (now with added Streep), so come and chat with us about Jane's bangs, Nicole's ear lobes, and Fiona's thoughts on snitchin' kids.
Happy watching!
Gather round, Bookworms, because this month we're reading Evvie Drake Starts Over, a romance novel (and a New York Times bestseller) by pop culture writer and host of the Pop Culture Happy Hour podcast, Linda Holmes.
Set in small town Maine, this is a book for those of us who like our romance with a side of believability. Bonus points if you love baseball and/or breakfast and/or shaggy dogs.
Get reading, and join us to talk about it at the end of the month.
Happy Reading!
Your end is a dead blue wren, Bookworms.
For this episode we read Boy Swallows Universe, the debut award-winning novel by Australian author Trent Dalton. A story about good people doing bad, bad people doing good, and how to live with the consequences of other people's decisions.
There is just so much to talk about, bookworms, and there's a reason this book is everywhere.
Come break it down with us - find out about Fiona's lucky freckle, Ben's red phone theory, and Laura's obsession with future ghosts (sorry guys, I tried to cut it out).
Happy listening!
