In an expected end, Olive and Adam end up as true loves. In an unexpected end, Malcolm and Holden also end as true loves!

Candice goes a little to hard on Olive in retrospect (sawwy I was FIRED UP) but Chrissy keeps the rocket ship grounded. While this was frustrating to read it was so fun to recap!

The Bookalicious Girlies take on Ali Hazelwood's debut novel, Love Hypothesis, or as Candice calls it Nerd Love or as Chrissy calls it, A Rocket Ship Housed in Standford's Biology PhD Program. This is a listener recommend read from friend of the pod Jess!

While this book is completely unbelievable, it is a fun read and we enjoyed trying out this new genre. Join us next week as we wrap up Love Hypothesis

The girlies have once again put all their chips on a murder suspect who was completely innocent. While Chrissy was never fully convinced of Billy's murdering ways, Candice is still not convinced Billy ISN’T the true big bad of this mystery.

Unanswered questions

• Why did Billy’s Mom abandon him with a known pedo/killer?
• Why did Billy not look at his tool kit when Jet was investigating?
• Did Jet overlook Luke’s serial killer tendencies?
• Does Sophia ever face consequences?
• Does Mr. Finney hate Billy because he doesn’t like to murder?

Despite these questions we rated this book a 4.9 This is a fun & fast-pace thriller while being a little more grounded in reality than other thrillers we’ve read

For our first venture into Holly Jackson, we loved the ride! Thank you FSmith for this recommendation.

In part 2 of 3, the sisters are in the thick of solving Jet's murder & all eyes are on Billy.

The girlies wonder how Jet is able to use a pick-axe without triggering her aneurysm, is Jet worse than her mom? And surely the murderer can’t be Luke because he is throwing off all red flags

Join the Bookalicious Girlies as they dive into critically acclaimed Holly Jackson’s newest novel, Not Quite Dead Yet. This book comes as a reader recommendation, by number one listener of the pod FSmith

Who do you think attacked Jet? The murder suspects are numerous, but Candice thinks the only plausible candidate is friendzoned-Billy. Chrissy is unsure who she thinks attacked Jet, but she is very confident in her disdain for our immature protagonist.

This will be a 3 part bonanza as the sisters celebrate their newest favorite holiday - Hollyween

Candice and Chrissy wrap up the octopus book and realize they have been misjudging this book for an entire year! Some things discussed-

- Why didn't Cameron look for his mom? Or write off Tova as "too weird to be related to me"??

- Is taking care of others a burden?

- Why is Cameron a man-child?

- Do we wish more questions were answered?

- How is Avery okay with Cameron and his antics? Is she a robot?

The ladies dive into Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt! This book came highly recommended by friend of the pod, Meg!

We channel our own remarkably bright selves and explore some ~unexpected~ topics:

- An author recap that turns into an octopus recap

- Judging a book by its cover (but actually we've been judging it for a year and still have the same verdict)

- Our first foray into granny fiction?

- Is Tova a curmudgeon or sympathetic?

- Can every book be a murder mystery book?

- Of course it can. How is Marcellus going to solve the mystery?

The sisters make history in their first movie recap - Netflix Thursday Murder Club.

While the movie has glimmers of good scenes, Candice calls it a flop & demands a miniseries. Chrissy said she enjoyed it, but later reveals she was bored & Mom fell asleep.

Timeline wise, this is the last episode recorded before baby Franklet arrives. You wont get an update until November!
