Chris Canas is a ferocious guitarist out of Detroit and he is our guest on this week's Bourbon Turntable.  Chris leads a blues-rock trio playing original songs and familiar covers (his version of "Purple Rain" is the best cover of it I've heard).

In addition to talking to Chris about music, we also taste some Michigan whiskeys with him: Journeyman Distilling "Not a King Rye" and Traverse City Whiskey's barrel proof bourbon.  Chris has one of the best whiskey palates of any musician we've had on the show.

Drew and Kevin sit down with Brian Jones and Jason Johantges (the hosts of All Things Blues & Southern Rock) for this week's episode.  We get to know these guys and their show while enjoying some uniquely southern whiskeys from High Wire Distilling and Blue Note Whiskey.

We are joined this week by Alan Bishop of Distillers' Talk and Mike Lisac from My Whiskey Den to discuss one of the most iconic and ground-breaking albums of all time: Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon".  The album celebrated its 50th birthday earlier this month.

We discuss some of the behind the scenes trivia of the album and debate its impact on music as a whole and on us as music fans.  The history of the band before DSOTM and the trajectory of the band after is also a point of conversation.

We also have some interesting drink choices to pair with "Dark Side of the Moon".

Before that, we taste some excellent whiskeys.  Chris is a collector of Japanese whiskey, so we start with a Kaiyo cask strength.  Chris is also a big fan of westerns and the American southwest.  The Dorado mesquite-smoked American Single Malt from Whiskey Del-Bac fit that bill.

This week on #BourbonTurntable our guest is Chip Tate.  Chip was the founder of Balcones Distilling and is one of the pioneers of the craft whiskey movement.  

We catch up with Chip and his new venture: Tate & Co. Distillery.  Right now Chip is staying busy building custom stills for his own distillery as well as for others.

Our guest this week on #BourbonTurntable is Jerry Dalton.  Jerry was the Master Distiller at Jim Beam from 1998-2007.  He bridged the era of Booker Noe to the start of Fred Noe as Master Distiller. 

In this episode you'll learn of the great legacy of Jerry in the whiskey world, but also get to know the honorable man that Jerry Dalton is.  He is a man worthy of inclusion in the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame and that is something we want to see happen for him.
