Two ranching brothers told the Box Elder County Commission that a stretch of Faust Valley Road near the Northrop Grumman complex has become dangerous for both motorists and livestock, and asked the county to share the cost of fencing or other safety improvements. The Brigham City Council has approved a general-plan amendment and zoning change aligning the zoning for Big J Milling & Elevator Co. with the company’s existing grain-handling and storage operation on the city’s west side. The Bureau of Reclamation has closed the road on the west side of Willard Bay Reservoir through December as crews continue dike repair work, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources announced this week. Seventh- and eighth-graders at Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning in Perry kicked off a months-long project on Friday, Nov. 7, that combines science, public health, and advocacy related to an invisible health threats. Box Elder County commissioners voted to refund a taxsale purchase after a Tremonton buyer discovered the land he bought did not legally exist. Scott Robinson told the board he had paid ,800 for a small strip near the Bear River Canal, only to learn through a post-sale survey that the parcel actually belongs to the canal company. “It appears that property is owned by the canal company…so it’s not an actual parcel,” he said.
