Box Elder County has joined two more national opioid settlements, expanding the county’s role in ongoing litigation over the opioid crisis. The first settlement considered Sept. 10 involved Purdue Pharma. County Attorney Steve Hadfield told commissioners the agreement had just arrived and had to be approved by Sept. 30. The second settlement was with eight pharmaceutical companies: Alvogen, Amneal, Apotex, Hik- ma, Indivior, Mylan, Sun and Zydus. Counties must sign on by Oct. 8 to be eligible for payments.
