WACKY-BUT-TRUE: WOMAN DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT KNIFE IN BOTTOM _ A woman in China was mugged, but at the time didn’t realize that she’d been stabbed. In fact, for four months had no clue that a six-inch knife blade was completely buried in her bottom. And it was only after complaining of stomach pains that doctors did an X-ray and found the blade pressing into her bladder.
WACKY-BUT-TRUE: FAKE DOCTOR PERFORMED DELICATE PROCEDURES FOR 20 YEARS _ A 36-year-old man in Thailand has been arrested for performing penis enlargement procedures for two decades without a medical license. Despite only having a ninth grade education, Kittikorn Songsri operated on patients at a townhouse. He advertised his services on social media, conducting surgeries on two to three patients monthly. Songsri was self-taught in implants since age 14 and was reported by a patient who suffered severe infections. After an undercover sting operation, authorities arrested Songsri, who admitted to performing procedures for 20 years.
WACKY-BUT-TRUE: THIEF BUSTED IN SHIRT HE STOLE _ In Germany an unidentified man burglarized a woman’s residence, getting away with some cash and one striped shirt. This must have been a very unique shirt, as the woman spotted him wearing it a short time later. Thinking there weren’t many like it, she called the cops and told them she thought she’d found the thief. He was still strolling around the neighborhood when they found him, still wearing the stolen shirt and carrying the tools he had used to break into her house.
WACKY-BUT-TRUE: SUBWAY JOYRIDE ENDS IN CRASH _ Police in New York City are searching for a man and woman who took an empty subway train on a joyride before crashing it. The duo boarded the unoccupied train in Queens just after midnight on September 12. They managed to get the train running and collided shortly after with another parked train. Surveillance footage of the couple has been released.
WACKY-BUT-TRUE: BANANA USED TO HOLD UP GROCERY STORE _ A man walked into a store in the UK and grabbed a banana from a counter, then placed it inside his sweatshirt. He then pretended the banana was a gun. Lucky for the thief the clerk didn’t see him steal the banana and assumed he had a gun. He made of with some money and cigarettes.
WHAT WAS THE MOST SHOCKING HABIT YOU DISCOVERED WHEN YOU MOVED IN WITH A PARTNER?
• She sprints up and down the stairs. She just hates being on the stairs, so she makes it as fast as possible. It’s insane to watch her calmly walk to the stairs then just automatically start sprinting.
• He won’t clear the couch, he just sits down. Fresh folded laundry? Sit on it. Purse? Sit on it. Paper? Sit on it.
• My husband folds towels while they are still wet and puts them away.
• Eating cereal with water, not milk.
• She eats cereal with orange juice.
• He doesn’t change his bedsheets… ever. He thought the only reason I change mine regularly was because of periods and he thought men just don’t have to change bedsheets.
• That he would bite his nails and drop the little pieces all over the apartment. He moved out six months ago and I’m still finding fingernail bits in weird places.
• My girl loves peanut butter so much, she has a tub of it next to the bed. And on the coffee table. And in her office. None of these tubs have lids, they are always open with a spoon in it.
• I found out years and years later that every argument, discussion, comment, etc. was fed to her parents. Every time I’d make a decision, she’d consult with them and provide their unsolicited input.
• My ex-husband used to suck his thumb. I caught him doing it one night. It was so bizarre seeing this big man covered in tattoos sucking his thumb.

TWO-THIRDS OF SHOPPERS AVOID LOCKED DISPLAY CASES _ According to the survey, only 32 percent of shoppers will bother to ask a store employee to unlock a display case. Retailers, including major chains like Target, have increasingly resorted to locking up inventory due to concerns over organized retail crime, despite some experts suggesting that the extent of this issue is exaggerated.
COFFEE MAY PROTECT AGAINST HEART DISEASE AND DIABETES _ What is your relationship with coffee? A recent study suggests that moderate coffee consumption could lower your risk of developing heart conditions like Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Researchers collected data from over 500,000 British adults and found that those who drank about three cups of coffee or consumed 200-300 mg of caffeine per day had a significantly lower risk of developing multiple cardiometabolic diseases.

A CAT’S EXTRAORDINARY 900-MILE JOURNEY HOME _ A cat named Rayne embarked on a remarkable adventure after getting lost in Yellowstone National Park during a camping trip. The Anguiano family, who had brought their two cats to the park, searched for Rayne for four days before returning home to Salinas, California. That was June. But then, last month, they received news from a microchip company that Rayne was found in Roseville, California, nearly 900 miles away. With the help of a kind woman who fed and cared for him, Rayne managed to find his way back to his family.
TEXT TALK:
Would you rather have a conversation in person or via text? It probably won’t come as a surprise to you that 7 in 10 millennials and Gen Z say they prefer to communicate digitally – mostly by text – than in person. In a poll of 4,000 young adults between 18-34 throughout a number of Western countries, 65% said they talk to peers more often via texting or cell phone, and that number is even higher in English-speaking nations, where about 74% said they prefer to talk via text. A few other “phone findings” from the survey…
• 62% percent would rather forget their wallet than their phone when going out.
• 70% said they sleep within arm’s length of their phone. And just over half even check their phone for notifications if they wake up in the night.
• 66% bring their device with them to the restroom.
What are the most and least trusted restaurants?
But within the fast-food industry, opinions seem more divided. Among restaurants, it’s no surprise that the most trusted fast food restaurants are some of the oldest chains in the country: Pizza Hut, KFC, and McDonald’s.
Meanwhile, Chipotle Mexican Grill is the least trusted restaurant in the United States, followed by Sonic Drive-In and Panera Bread. Chiptole’s spot as the No. 1 least trusted fast-food brand could be due to reported food safety issues in the last few years. Whatever the reason, that distrust of Chipotle was greatest among older Americans. Boomers find Chipotle to be the least trustworthy brand across all industries.
When asked what makes a brand trustworthy, those surveyed said the following mattered most:
Delivers on promises (36%)
Asks for honest reviews and feedback (36%)
Pricing transparency (35%)
Builds relationships with consumers (34%)
Consistent performance (33%)
Listens to and acts on feedback (31%)
Employee treatment transparency (30%)
Provides behind-the-scenes info about processes (29%)
Easy to use website (29%)
Pays employees well (28%)

BOSSES HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WE DO ON A DAILY BASIS _ A survey of employees finds bosses have no idea what their staff are up to. One in three believe their managers are totally oblivious about the jobs they perform daily.
This could be good and bad. Good in the sense that you are not micromanaged, but bad in two regards. One, If they try to direct your to do something, they have no idea what you may already be knee deep in. Two, when it comes to reviews and promotions, if they have no idea what you’ve accomplished, how can they accurately rate you?
DELTA AIRLINES FLIGHT EXPERIENCES TERRIFYING CABIN PRESSURE ISSUE _ A recent Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City to Portland encountered a severe cabin pressure malfunction shortly after takeoff. Passengers reported experiencing intense pain, including bloody noses and burst eardrums. One passenger described her ear feeling like it was “popping and bubbling.” The pilots opted to descend and and return to Salt Lake International Airport. Upon landing, ten individuals were treated or evaluated by paramedics, with one passenger diagnosed with a ruptured eardrum. This is frightening to me… We’ve been lucky in our flying experience, some bad turbulence at times, but never anything like this and rarely have we had major flying issues.

WACKY-BUT-TRUE: CUSTOMERS RECEIVE FAKE $100 BILLS FROM ATM _ Imagine going to the ATM expecting to withdraw cash, only to realize that the $100 bills you received are fake. That’s what happened to multiple customers at an Independence Bank ATM in Providence, Kentucky. According to reports, more than a dozen people were given counterfeit $100 bills marked “for motion picture purposes” and “in props we trust” when they made withdrawals. Independence Bank responded to the incident by closing the ATM, contacting their vendor, and reaching out to the affected customers.
WACKY-BUT-TRUE: LARGE COUPLE STEALING DRYER TIME _ Police in Germany were searching for a large couple who had been sneaking into an apartment building to use a woman’s private clothes dryer. The only evidence police found was an oversized XXL bra and a jumbo pair of men’s underpants left behind in the dryer. The owner had been on alert for the intruders since receiving a $600 electricity bill. Then one night she heard the dryer go on and went into the basement to investigate. There was no one in sight but she found the bra and undies left in mid-cycle.

SURGE IN DOG WALKING INJURIES _ A recent study by Johns Hopkins University revealed a staggering 342 percent increase in injuries related to dog walking among American adults and children from 2001 to 2020. Fractures, sprains, and head trauma were the most common injuries reported. Women accounted for 75 percent of visits, and adults aged 40 to 64 made up 45 percent of the total.
… To avoid injuries during dog walking sessions, researchers suggest you should avoid multitasking and be sure you’re using a leash or body harness that’s appropriate for your dog’s size.
TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT? TRY THE SARDINE FAST _ If you’re like many adults, you might be wishing you could lose a few pounds. And maybe you’re one to try new diets, just in case one takes hold and really works. If so, have you tried the sardine fast?
… The sardine fast involves consuming only sardines for a set period, typically 72 hours, with the aim of boosting ketones and reducing blood glucose levels. This fast is popular among those following ketogenic diets, as sardines are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and essential nutrients. Participants have reported various health benefits, including increased energy levels, improved concentration, and reduced inflammation.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE WEDDING RING
After the marriage ended, what did you do with the wedding ring?
What the internet said:
• After my ex flew the coop, I tied my wedding ring to a helium balloon and let it loose in the wild blue yonder. It was a symbolic gesture… I must have had my head in the clouds to get married in the first place.
• I put mine around the dog’s collar and attached the rabies tags to it. It looked better on the dog!
• I’m holding onto mine until the next time I have a cavity. Then I’m going to have the dentist melt it down and use it as the filling, so when my ex- does something that drives me nuts I can grind down on it like THISSS.
• I threw mine into the river — since I knew it was already polluted.
• As for my two used wedding rings from previous marriages, I own a body piercing shop and used them there. I also advertise a free piercing if you bring in an old ring.

NO BAD APPLES:
According to a report, Apple doesn’t allow bad guys to be seen using their products, such as iPhones and iPads, in TV, film or ads. While the policy is not explicitly written in Apple’s Guidelines for Using Apple Trademarks and Copyrights, the document states that “the Apple product is shown only in the best light, in a manner or context that reflects favorably on the Apple products”. The guidelines also state, “You may not use an Apple trademark or any other Apple-owned graphic symbol, logo, or icon in a disparaging manner.
REAL NEWS ABOUT FAKE NEWS:
Children in England will be taught how to spot “fake news” as part of a planned overhaul of the school curriculum. The perils of online misinformation were brought into the spotlight earlier this month when false information helped to fuel violent, far-right riots across the UK. As a result, Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson announced: “It’s more important than ever that we give young people the knowledge and skills to be able to challenge what they see online.” The curriculum review is intended to develop plans to “embed critical skills in lessons to arm our children against the disinformation, fake news and putrid conspiracy theories awash on social media.”
WHAT PEOPLE WANT TO KILL MOST:
According to Google Trends, these are the most-common internet searches by people in the US over the past 2 decades, that begin with “How to kill…”
❑ Ants
❑ Fleas
❑ Flies
❑ Bed Bugs
❑ Fruit Flies
❑ Lice
❑ Gnats
❑ Bees
❑ Roaches
❑ Mites
OK, all pretty benign stuff, right? But also appearing on the list, although quite a way down, are: Lobster, mockingbirds, time and chillingly “someone”.

You’ve likely heard this story by now, but it is definitely good news that bears repeating. Police in Nashville praised singer Jon Bon Jovi for helping prevent a tragedy by speaking to a woman who was on the ledge of a bridge. He and his team were at the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge as a woman stood precariously over the Cumberland River. Security video shows Bon Jovi and another member of his crew, who were there for a video shoot, slowly approach before arriving at the young woman’s side. He leans over the railing and speaks with the woman, while his colleague steps behind her and begins to touch her shoulder. The potential disaster appears to conclude with the young woman turning around and hugging Bon Jovi, before they help her back over the edge. A few minutes later, she is seen leaving the bridge with the rock star. The event took place on Sept. 10, Suicide Prevention Day.
PICKING UP MORE THAN GROCERIES:
With the recent trend toward traditional in-person matchmaking, rather than using dating apps, singles in Spain are finding love with the help of their local supermarket. First popularized on TikTok, of course, those who are looking to meet a special someone have been putting a pineapple upside down in their shopping cart between 7pm and 8pm at stores in the popular supermarket chain Mercadona. Doing so lets other singles know that you’re available — and invites them to bump their cart into yours. Then, later, if both meet in the wine section, it’s a match. The grocery store operators aren’t big fans of the trend, and claim their staff is starting to hide the pineapples for that one-hour period each day. But it’s catching on: Once, police had to be called due to an unruly crowd, and a German supermarket chain has now put the word out to its customers in Spain, inviting them to put a watermelon in their cart, to show they’re available.
STRANGE THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ARE CONSIDERED BAD LUCK:
⇒ Wishing someone ‘Happy Birthday’ before their birthday:Many Germans believe doing so will cause misfortune to everyone involved. Instead, they sometimes gather the night before a birthday and begin celebrating exactly at midnight.
⇒ Changing your bed on a Friday: An old wives’ tales says if you turn your mattress that day, you’ll be cursed with bad dreams. Others say the bad-luck day is Sunday. (Let’s just not do that anywhere near the weekend, OK?)
⇒ Carrying bananas on a ship: In the 1700s, many ships that were lost or shipwrecked were carrying bananas, so sailors, being a superstitious bunch, decided that bananas on a boat meant bad news.
⇒ Renaming a boat: This goes back to ancient times, when sailors believed that the name of every boat was written in the ledger of Poseidon. If you dared change the name of a boat, you’d incur the sea god’s wrath. (Still, if you happen to buy a boat named “Titanic”, I’d change it…)
⇒ Mixing beers: In the Czech Republic, whose people drink more beer per capita than anyone, it’s believed that if you pour one type of beer into a mug containing another type, you’re in for some misfortune.
⇒ Tuesday the 13th: While many cultures see Friday the 13th as bad news, in Spain, the 13th day of the month is unlucky when it falls on a Tuesday. In Spanish, the word for Tuesday is “Martes,” which comes from “Mars”, the Roman god of war, so Tuesday spells trouble.
