  • S3 EP6 PT2 TABLES TURNED: Social Media Anxiety, A Tool? (Zachary Spiezer Interviews Carlx)
Zach and I continued our conversation about social media anxiety from Pt 1, and the tables turned because Zach was asking me a bunch of questions about how I handle social anxiety online. In 2021, using social media is a must for shameless self promotion online. But how do we use these tools while not losing our marbles?? We may or may not have a couple answers for you.

  • S3 EP6 PT1 Prioritizing Rest, The Importance of Hiatus (Feat. Zachary Spiezer)
For this 2 part episode of Breakfast and Beats I invited my very first mentor in the craft of Audio Engineering, Zachary Spiezer. Zach is an accomplished artist/engineer who has released over 6 projects, and a "novelette" as well as opening his own studio space and mentoring fresh minds in the craft. I honestly wouldn't be engineering podcasts and making beats in NYC if it wasn't for this guy. He and I sat down for a lengthy 3 hr episode that I split into two parts. In part 1 we talked about the importance of rest in the creative process. Def a dope episode for any creatives who are grappling with toxic hustle culture and feel like they need a break.

  • S3 EP 5 Doing The Work For Future You, Songwriter Edit (Feat. @yesiamgoldilocks)
July's round of interviews kicked off SPICY with Goldilocks, a Queens based Rapper/Producer extraordinaire. We got into Goldi's come-up story starting with her passion for music and how it evolved into her latest Album, Future Famous, which is available on all streaming platforms. Goldi and I got deep about the creative process and the true message behind her album.
**I personally loved this interview because Goldi and I talked about deep concepts and my scorpio ass loves that shit.

  • S3 EP4 The Life Cycle of a Freelance Artist, Stylist Edition (feat. @soulflowr)
This week on Breakfast and Beats I was able to have a dope conversation with the lovely, and powerful clothing stylist, Soulflowr. I personally loved this interview because Soulflowr dropped some real 💎gems💎about the freelancing process that could apply to ANY mode of art. Working our way up and starting from nothing and turning it into something is classic element to "The Come Up Story" and boy, does Soulflowr have a story to tell you. She made that shit work and has even had her work featured on a Billboard in 2021! It was an honor to interview such a mover and shaker in the art world, and I am so stoked to see what more she has to bring! Pure 🔥🔥 as always.

I sat down with my friend Shane, who owns a fashion brand called Norm, to talk about the creative process and owning a business. Shane has been building his brand for several years and is always working to grow his business and engage with his craft and I am always inspired by his work ethic and his clothing! I love his clothes and wear them all the time- I have been a #normboi for what feels like a century now , and I love watching him grow because it gives me the inspiration to grow as well! This is one you won't want to miss. The Designer lifestlye, underground.

  • S3 EP2 Breakfast and Beats is BACK! Let's have a chat, hmmmm?(Feat. @sln238)
We are finally ready to come back. I took an entire year's hiatus from this project because of many reasons, COVID is just the most easily accessible excuse for putting a pause on this project. I was overwhelmed by the hype of 2020 and as an introvert, I needed to retreat so that I could come back with a better energy, a more collected mind, and a more clear direction for myself and BREAKFAST AND BEATS!
In this episode, my girlfriend, Sammie, and I talk about how the pandemic has effected our lives. We zoomed out and looked at our growth from the beginning of the pandemic to the present and how much our core values have been strengthened during this process. We talked about our small businesses and the way we are utilizing this final round of quarantine to manifest our futures.

  • S3 Ep1: 30 Day Beat Challenge Recap, Selling Beats, Dropping Gems (feat. @Ed.Makes.Music)
In the month of August, I challenged UK based producer, @ed.makes.music, to a #30daybeatchallenge and it was a REEEAAALLLLL nail-biter the entire challenge. Tune in to see who won!
We also talked about Ed's music and how he is killing the game as a producer. He started making beats just over a year ago and now, with over 350 beats under his belt, Ed is a wealth of knowledge on how to sell beats and make a name for yourself online. Def a must listen for up and coming producers.
You can find Ed on instagram as @ed.makes.music and from there you can navigate to his Youtube page and his merch line!

  • Quarantine EP4- Day 13 Feelin Stir Crazy Yet?
I went through several phases during this Corona Quarantine. I went through denial, panic, fear, television depression stupor and finally figured out a way to cut the energy in the space thanks to my friend @i.write.ny who shared @rebeccagitana's instagram live of a tarot reading and it really helped me realign and set intentions in my home space. I super appreciated the tips that were given and when we put them into practice it helped me find a better routine. There are resources all over the internet on how to take care of the mind and body during an intense time such as this, but honestly, the advice of my friends and people in my community have helped me the most. Thank you for sharing resources! If you have any topics that you would like to be discussed on our next episode, please feel free to dm me at @breakfastandbeatsnyc
Thanks for listening, stay safe, and stay wavey

  • Breakfast and Beats: Quarantine Season3 EP3- Day 7, Our Fiscal Future
Quarantine hijinx have got my best friend and partner on the mic! @sln238 is an amazing mind. To say the least, she has so much knowledge about FINANCE. She graduated from NYU STERN in 2009 with a bachelor's in finance (and a minor in vocal performance! You'll be able to peep this scene soon!!) and worked directly in the finance industry until 2017 when she started her own business consulting for business owners and freelancers! In this episode, her knowledge is so useful because we talked about the potential financial future of the United States, and the World. There are a lot of what-ifs floating about, but we are here to give a little snap shot of what we think about what has been done. A big thanks to @tay_yoder for posing a great question to us to help us keep the ball rolling!
