A very large part of coaching is raising awareness so that the coachee perceives discrepancies in what they are saying and choices that they didn’t know they had. The coach can build a bridge between internal and external experience of happiness and the way we elect to be happy on a daily basis.
When coaching a person, the energy is inwards. Clients or coachees have the opportunity to connect with their inner wisdom and connect the pieces to discover the next steps.
To describe this coaching process, Boris Joaquin talks to world-renowned business educator and coach Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, a leading expert in his field. His singular ability to get results for top leaders has drawn over 150 CEOs and their management teams to address change in the workplace.

ON SERVANT LEADERSHIP: LEADING YOUR PEOPLE THROUGH DISRUPTIVE TIMES
In today's episode, we are honored to have Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan. After winning in the 2016 senatorial elections, Pangilinan continued his advocacy in agriculture. His most recent law was RA 11321 or the Sagip Saka Act, which he principally authored and principally sponsored in the Senate. Sagip Saka aims increase farmers' income by empowering them and connecting them to the market.
The Philippines being an agricultural country possess a vast array of natural resources. However, the country’s agriculture sector is beset with perennial challenges resulting to low incomes in farming, low rural employment, lack of food security, and weak agricultural competitiveness. In particular, some, if not most of the next generation of farmers, have abandoned or made a decline in their interest to invest in agriculture. Because of this, we would like to delve the issue further and bring insights, solutions and recommendations on the issues and challenges faced by the fisheries and agriculture sector.
This interview was originally intended for the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) through its online program dubbed as “People Manager Magazine Presents” where Boris serves as Editor-in-Chief.

While some may argue that distance makes the heart grow fonder when in love, it's not as easy to say the same thing when it comes to one's career.
As economies restart and we continue to do our jobs, even amid a pandemic, it has become clear that to continue thriving, we have to make do with working remotely. The struggle of keeping connected is a natural part of this shift.
One way for us to adjust is by working on our communication skills. To four-time New York Times best-selling author Joseph Grenny, given our circumstances, "business success will have less to do with when we open our doors and more to do with how well we open our mouths." Joseph Grenny is the leading social scientist for business performance. Over the past thirty years, Joseph has delivered engaging keynotes at major conferences including the HSM World Business Forum at Radio City Music Hall. Joseph’s work has been translated into 28 languages, is available in 36 countries, and has generated results for 300 of the Fortune 500.
In a one-on-one conversation, Grenny and Boris Joaquin, a top-ranked corporate trainer for management and leadership, will discuss crucial conversation skills leaders can use to build collaborative workplace cultures despite an ongoing pandemic.

Change is not entirely bad. Change can bring you from the old to the new: from depressed to determined, from sidelined to significant, from barely surviving to thriving. You just need to remember that you were made for a purpose, and having compassion for others while surveying the resources and opportunities you have in your hands, embrace the new trails you might be called to blaze.
