00:53 - David shares an interesting story about how he and Brian Benstock met for the first time. Brian was a client of David's and had a horrible experience. Without hesitation, David jumped on an airplane to visit Brian in person.

"Thank God I did because not only did I gain a tremendous client, but I gained somebody who has made a tremendous impact on my life ever since."

02:36 - David asks about Brian's upbringing because it leaves clues about how Brian has become the powerhouse he is today. Brian shares that he got his first job as soon as he could work, reffing hockey games. He was taught early on that if he wanted to get ahead, he had to work for it. That led to a 2nd and third job.

"I think that started my quest to climb up the ladder. It wasn't just about working more hours, it was about getting more in return for those hours."

10:36 - Not everyone telling you something won't work is wrong. Brian shares the experience of dreaming of becoming an NHL hockey player and doing everything in his power to achieve that goal. "My father gave me the education at the time, and I was angry with him — he told me I wasn't going to make it in the NHL, and quite frankly, I'm glad he was right."

12:40 - Today, Brian leads an organization with 500 employees and shares that as a leader, it's important to be accessible to his team. It's important to pay attention to each of the moving pieces within the organization but also can pay that same level of attention to one's family.
