Brian Crombie had the incredible opportunity to interview former Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion who turns 100 on February 14th, about her life, her political career, some milestones and her recommendations for all of us to stay healthy and active, politically involved and successful in a challenging world. Brian Crombie speaks to Carol Couchie, Nathalie Pambrun & laire Dion Fletcher about Aboriginal Midwives.

- Carol Couchie is an Indigenous Registered Midwife who practices in her home community of Nibising First Nation in Ontario. She has practiced midwifery in several Indigenous communities in Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba. She is currently a Co-Chair of the National Aboriginal Council of Midwives.
- Nathalie Pambrun is a FrancoManitoban Métis midwife who has practiced in urban, rural and remote communities across Canada and internationally. Bridging environmental and reproductive justice movements at the community level, she embraces a human rights approach that effectively respects the coming generations. She is committed to midwifery care that is accessible, equitable, and culturally safe. Nathalie served as the Canadian Association of Midwives (CAM) President from November 2018 to November 2020. She is CAM’s first Indigenous midwife to serve as President.
- laire Dion Fletcher graduated from the Midwifery Education Program (MEP) at Ryerson University in 2013, and recently completed her M.A. in Gender, Feminist and Women's Studies at York University. Her research focus was on Indigenous midwifery and decolonizing health care. She is a Lenape-Potawatomi and mixed settler midwife practising at Seventh Generation Midwives Toronto, where she serves an urban Indigenous clientele. Claire is currently a Co-Chair of the National Aboriginal Council of Midwives (NACM).

To correct this imbalance, Medicom, a Montreal based manufacturer & distributor has signed a multi year agreement with Ottawa to supply respiratory and surgical masks.
Medicago plans to fill the gaping hole in Canada’s vaccine manufacturing supply. Ottawa’s $173M cash infusion will help the company build a new facility, complete late stage clinical trials of its proprietary plant-based coronavirus vaccine and begin distributing it. Mrs Nathalie Landry, Executive Vice President of Scientific and Medical Affairs joins me.

She now coaches “mental fitness” because she had to struggle through mental illness due to untreated complex PTSD.

Brian Crombie speaks to Gracie Ella is an RnB singer/songwriter/guitarist from Burlington ON. She just released her debut single/music video “Sleep On Me” on December 4 2020 which has accumulated just over 150,000 views on YouTube. Her next single is set to drop in February on Valentines day. We speak about how the pandemic affected her, how she has struggled with addiction and how music is her passion and her salvation.

Later on, Brian speaks to Richard Dunwoody, Executive Director of Project Recover Inc. speaks on the intersection of Human Trafficking and Financial Fraud. In Canada 95% of the girls trafficked are Canadian born and the average age when they were first trafficked is 14 years old. When they are freed or able to escape they face significant debt incurred by their trafficker(s) in their name without their knowledge and/or consent.
