Dr. Brigitte Smith (@Brig13Smith1)is an assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Vascular Surgery at the University of Utah, School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She is also the program director for the vascular surgery fellowship and Vice-Chair of Education for the department of surgery.  She received her MD and completed an integrated vascular surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin.  Join us for our conversation on how we can innovate in the areas of quality and safety education for our vascular surgery trainees.  

She has already many achievements in surgical education with a grant for her research from the NBME Stemmler Medical Education Research Fund, named associate editor for surgical education with the Annals of Surgery Open team, winner of the Association for Surgical Education Linnea Hauge Outstanding Educational Scholar award, and recently selected to lead the American College of Surgeons (ACS) NSQIP Quality in Training Initiative (QITI).
