Bring Backup: A Veronica Mars Podcast

Today we're talking Chino and the Man, the second episode of Season 4! In this ep, V and Keith start to investigate the bombing of the Sea Sprite, which means we get to meet tons of new characters, all of who may potentially be murderous bombers.

But you know what they say, make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other is Dick Casablancas! Little Dick is back! And that's what I'm most excited about. Let's talk about it.

We're back! And we're skipping seasons 2 and 3 so that we can talk about season 4 that just dropped on Hulu! This week we're discussing episode 1: Spring Break Forever. And just to warn you, there will be spoilers from all three of the first seasons, the movie, and even the books! But we won't spoil anything from episodes that come after the one we're discussing.

Guess what y'all? Tonight is the night that we finally find out who killed Lilly Kane! Tonight we're discussing Leave it to Beaver, the season 1 finale!

And even though we have been diligently tracking this investigation, they leave us guessing all the way til the very end. Is it Logan? Is it Donut? Which rich, white boy did it????

Surprise! It's the ****SPOILER EDITED OUT****!

Oh, and don't think I forgot.... now presenting the Echolls family's custom portrait pool house curtain:

This week we're discussing the penultimate episode of season 1: A Trip to the Dentist. Despite what you may think, this episode is not, in fact, about dental hygiene, but we do get some lovely BFF bonding between Veronica and Wallace. That's about the only nice thing that happens though, because this episode mostly centers around Veronica's investigation of Shelly Pomroy's party last year where she was raped and drugged.

V interviews anyone who may have seen her that night, and we see some old familiar 09er faces like Aaron Samuels and Blair Waldorf, and those two interchangeable 09er boys whose names I can't ever remember.

So, you all know we tend to keep it pretty light on this pod, but we wanted to give a quick heads up that we'll be touching on some sensitive topics this episode. We'll definitely discuss the details surrounding Veronica's assault and the extremely inappropriate behavior occurring at Shelly's party, so keep that in mind if it's a topic you like to avoid.

This week's episode is M.A.D., the 20th episode out of 22 this season. We are in deep now, folks, and we're barreling towards some kind of conclusion.

We don't really get much about Lilly this week, but we get some big reveals about all of the other dramatic events in Veronica's life. Keith's serving Lianne notice via the classified ads, Clarence Wiedman knows Veronica planted a bug on him, and Veronica learns that she wasn't the only one drugged at Shelly Pomeroy's party.

Annnd, she also learns that the drugs in question were provided by Logan. I guess we have to talk about that.

This week's episode is Hot Dogs, and HOT DOG is it a crazy one!

Duncan's on the run, Weevil's busted for breaking into Lilly's bedroom, Aaron Echolls beats a man, Veronica breaks up with Leo and kisses Logan again, and she still finds time to take down a puppy theft ring! Also, this is a very strong episode for our podcast namesake! Backup rules in Hot Dog!!

And we learn that to get people to respect you, you've gotta taser them!

This week, we're talking about Weapons of Class Destruction, and prior to my most recent viewing, I had forgotten every last thing that happens in this episode, except for the fact that Logan punches Jonathan Taylor Thomas and then he and Veronica KISS! But per usual, there's a lot more going on.

Everyone gets reeeeal amped about Veronica and Logan's first kiss, but Meg won't let you forget V was making out with Leo in the first scene! And there's another episode romance: Keith and Felicia. Also, Mac is back! And Corny! And the Camelot Motel! Annnd, there's also a school bombing sub plot that is given far too little weight in the midst of it all.

This week we're discussing Kanes and Abel's, and true to the title, we get so much speculation about Lilly's murder, the Kanes' potential involvement, and how Abel Koontz fits into all of it.

But what's a Veronica Mars episode without Veronica working multiple cases at once? This time around, we get another interchangeable '09er, who's upset that she might not be valedictorian, but the only thing that really matters about that mystery is that it introduces us to our second favorite PI in Neptune, CA! Vinny Van Lowe!

This week's episode is Betty and Veronica, and while we get some pretty major movement in the Lilly Kane case, the best part of this episode is obviously that it's all about Wallace, our favorite best friend, the second best man in Veronica's life (after Keith), and the Sac N Pac employee of the month, every month.

Wallace has gone from being taped buck naked to the flagpole to being one of the cool kids, and honestly, it couldn't have happened to a better guy. Let's discuss!

We got a surprise trailer drop for Veronica Mars's Hulu debut, so you know we both dropped all our plans to break it down second by second, as soon as we possibly could. Which turned out to be about 5 hours after we first watched it.

FYI - This episode is ~~ SPOILER CITY ~~ ! Do not listen if you haven't consumed alllllll of Veronica Mars, including the movie and even the novels.

We touch on all the details and get hyped for what we saw, what we missed, what we hope to see... it's really just a pure hour of our immense joy and enthusiasm.
