Last week we finished reading the first half of The Return of the King, so today we're going to end our Tolkien quest by chatting about the last half or, Book 6, 'The End of the Third Age'.

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our Instagram 'book club discussions' and read along with us! We had so much fun experiencing Tolkien's epic adventure and we can't wait to re-watch the Peter Jackson movies with everything we've learned. Who knows, maybe we'll come back for a special mini-episode to discuss the adaptations?

We will be releasing a new episode exploring each instalment of the Lord of the Rings series every week until September 8th - just in time for Amazon's new show, The Rings of Power. Last week we finished reading The Fellowship of the Ring, so now we're going to launch into the second novel in the trilogy, The Two Towers.

Just like with our previous episodes on The Fellowship of the Ring, this novel will be getting two episodes. Fun fact: Tolkien originally wrote The Lord of the Rings as one thick-ass tome broken up into six parts (or books- confusing, I know) and not three separate novels like most of us have grown accustomed to. So, in this episode, we will be talking about Book 3, 'The Treason of Isengard'; or, alternatively, the beginning of the novel until the chapter entitled 'The Old Forest'.
