We continue our Discipleship series, picking up the thread after the Christmas season. Here we learn to become like Christ in His growing up, to "increase in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man." Luke 2:412-52 and Philippians 2:12-13 our the Scripture references for today.

Matthew 1:1-17 delivers the lineage of Jesus, with all its characters of failure and faith, of vice and virtue, sin and salvation. Jesus' ancestors included people who rejected God, yet God through them offers redemption, to us as He did to them. This is good news for us, and Good News for the nations! II Samuel 7:8-16 and Genesis 12:1-3 are also verses for today that prophesy of God's coming Grace in Jesus Christ, a fitting thought to seal this Christmas series.

The incarnation demonstrates the Greatness of God, not His smallness. The High must reach down to the lowly, the lowly cannot transcend to the Mighty. God had to come down to save us, and He did! Hallelujah! Again, this Christmas (and always), what is your response? Luke 1:46-55 is one of the key verses for today.

We continue our seasonal Christmas series with Pastor Ryan emphasizing the ministry of our coming Lord, explaining what His ministry and its powerful hope meant to Mary and Joseph, to the Magi, to Bethlehem, and to us. God delivered us His ministry of Immanuel (God with us). It is up to us to receive it! Matthew 2:1-18 is our focal scripture.

Our Christmas series continues. God has come to bring salvation to you; three great promises to bank our hope in, expressed in the resounding act of Christ's birth! We could not and cannot fix our problems themselves - God had to save us! That He did in the incarnation of Jesus shows He is GREAT, not small! Luke 1:46-55 is one of the focal verses for today.

Pastor Ryan directs our attention to the coming celebration of Christmas for this year, delivering a short series of messages on Matthew 12:18-21, emphasizing the promise made by the Lord in verse 21. Here we learn that true hope is not wishful thinking, but rather a confident certainty that God will do as He promised - "Emmanuel", God with us!

Pastor Ryan expounds on Luke 9:57-62, where there are not one, but three persons who approach Jesus and declare that "I want to follow You, but first let me do....." Jesus is quite willing to challenge us, sifting out those expressions of divided loyalty, those things that distract us from completely following Jesus. What is your call? Invitation, or challenge?

Our own discipleship to Jesus is necessary before we have the capacity disciple each other. "Come to Me" and "Learn form Me" declared Jesus; He knew that His disciples needed to see faith worked out as well as taught - so it is with us. Pastor Ryan teaches on this critical infrastructure to our ministry to the world...make disciples! And the invitation from the Lord begins with us. Matthew 12, Phillipians 3 and II Peter 1 our some of the passages taught on today.

Pastor Ryan's father, Pastor Bruce Cochran, guest preaches for BCC today. He speaks on modelling Christ as we learn, in the power of the Holy Spirit, to forbear and to forgive. Colossians 3 is our focus Scripture for today.

Pastor Ryan discusses what our response to persecution should be, how to respond to the acute suffering of our brothers and sisters, and the day-in, day-out alienation of Christianity in our own society. I Peter 4:12-19 is our Scripture for today.
