Mary returns to the site of her former home, now burned, and begins to read her husband's ledger for clues of what to do next--and who she is now. Thomas recognizes the skill Sorrowful has gained and takes him to converse with Norwood about the secrets beneath the sea...

William Warmgore is slain, but even dead he's proving a worthier opponent than most. The Virgin Snow makes its way to Bermuda to learn what became of Mary--while Mary herself begins to hatch her plan to escape the clutches of Captain Goodrich before she's returned to London in chains.
