Peter ward is a paleontologist at the University of Washington. Ward works on mass extinctions, modern extinctions, and conservation biology. He studies rapid evolution during environmental crises including times of great climate change, such as now. Ward wrote the best selling astrobiology book Rare Earth and 18 other non fiction science books for the public
