Welcome to the political silly season. If you have ANY faith in the government, you are too stupid to listen to this show. Just turn it off now. The government will NOT help you, you are your own political leader. As long as you prepare the best you can in your business, it doesn't matter what the other guy or the government does. If you execute, you win. It's as simple as that.

Unless you are running for office, or are working for someone running for office, you should not spend more than a few hours TOTAL figuring out who to vote for. Every news station you listen to will give you confirmation bias. They are all for-profit businesses and do you know what generates profits? Extreme views to the left or right. People arguing about how their side is right and the other side is wrong, or lying, or cheating, or all of the above. They are all pointing fingers because that's what gets people to watch them more. They are not trying to inform you or educate you, all they are trying to do is get you to keep watching.

Politics is a business, but it shouldn't be YOUR business. It's not my business because I'm rich enough that I don't care. You and I need to focus on ourselves, our businesses, and our success. Screw the politicians, make enough money that whatever they do won't affect you at all.

The truth works, every single time. "What does that have to do with mumbling, Bucky?" "Mumbling" can mean a lot of things. It could mean you're actually mumbling, but it could also mean you're just not being clear, and it all comes down to communication. Make sure you are being clear with everything in your business. This applies to your employees and your customers. Be clear like a 2-year-old when you are talking to your employees and co-workers. Ans when you're talking to your customers, or communication on your website- be straight. Get to the point. Tell it like it is. Don't ramble, that's just like mumbling.

You all are rainmakers, right? Of course you are, and if you're not now, you are working towards that. That's OK, that's actually a great thing, but if you want to make it rain, you're gonna have to deal with the mud that comes along with it. You get the dream and you realize it's a lot of work!  Time for "Bucky H8 in '28." It's silly season, (that's what I call election season) but it will be my time in 8 years, just you watch. Back to that later, now it's time to talk about communication. You need to be CLEAR with your WORDS. Everything breaks down if communication breaks down. Talk at a 6th-grade level, and if you're talking about money and finances, drop that down to a 3rd-grade level.

Learn to apologize. Even if it's not your fault, remember to apologize. Ask them about them. Don't write long emails. Ask your question right in the subject line. Skip the flowery bullshit. Don't waste time, people love that. People with money REALLY love that. Remember the turtleneck freak Steve Jobs who said "Simple is complex" and less is better when you're using your words. And that's why my episodes are only 8 minutes long and I tell you what you need to know right in the subject line…Or in this case, in the title.

I need you to be intense. I need you to go to war every day and take no prisoners, but also remember- There's always a story behind the story. How many times have you gone off half-cocked when you thought the shit was really hitting the fan, only to realize you may have overreacted just a teensy-weensy bit. Take it from the Buckster, because I've done that more times than I care to admit, there's always a story behind the story.

Do you know why you do that? It's because you're telling yourself a story instead of letting the story play out on its own. You're seeing something happening and since you're the smartest guy/gal in the room, you're predicting what is going to happen or why it happened, but your brain is gaming out the worst possible scenarios and it usually doesn't happen that way. So next time you get upset about something, anything, you have to wait 24 hours to respond. Take the information in. Take a breath. Think about it. Ponder on it. Reflect on it. Rinse it around in our mouth a few times. Give it 24 to settle or brew. After 24 hours, if you still see it going down badly, do what you've gotta do, player. Fire somebody, rip into them, go raise hell, but most of the time you're going to realize that it's not as bad as you thought it was going to be, and that if you reacted like you wanted to at first, you'd be in a much worse place and kicking yourself now. Take a breath player, there's always a story behind the story.

This is the 19th strain of the COVID virus and it won't be the last. This thing will keep changing and mutating to avoid being killed off by any vaccine we come up with. This virus has killed a lot of businesses and it will probably kill more before it's done.

Facemasks are the new seatbelt. Temperature checks are the new Homeland Security scans. Social distancing will be the new norm.  Handshaking and hugs will not be the norm anymore. Virus threats are the new terrorist threats. Live concerts and sporting events may go the way of the 8-track player. Compounding interest is not just about money. It can be applied to business and life as well. The "10,000 hour rule" says that you need to practice something for 10,000 hours to be an expert at it. That's a lot of time, if you put in 40 hours a week, every week, it will still take you 5 years to get 10,000 hours.

The problem with "Go big or go home" is that you'll often go home! The results of compounding interest are incremental, but they are important. That makes it hard, because in the short term, you can't always see your improvements, but you have to stick with it.

Don't think about being consistently great at what you're doing, try to be great at being consistent. Focus on compounding your own interest every single day, one day at a time, for a very long time. Easier said than done, but this is a winning formula. Take it from the Buckster.

 We all want to go fast, move fast, work fast, make money fast, but sometimes you need to slow down to grow fast. If you constantly crank up the speed and try to do everything, you'll quickly realize that not only can you NOT do it all, but you shouldn't try to do it all. Focus on what you do well, and the world will slow down for you. Try to do things you don't do well, and you'll be amazed at how quickly your time disappears. You need to surround yourself with people who are good at what you're not good at so you can be great at what you're great at.

Just because you're busy doesn't mean you're being productive. Do less "busy work" and do more strategic work.  You'll be amazed at how much more you'll get done.
