In basketball, shooting 55% means you are kicking ass, but it means you're missing almost half of your shots. In baseball, hitting .350 means you are totally kicking ass, but it means you're not hitting the ball 65% of the time. Don't be afraid to fail. Don't worry about what other people think. No one is watching, and anyone who is should care about you enough to support you when you fail, because the only way to succeed is to learn how to fail. You can't hit them all, you're going to fail, but understand that it's part of the process. Deal with it. Stay with it. Get your freak on, FREAK! The Buckster has failed but I get back on my feet every time. Plan to succeed, go in trying to succeed, but don't give up when you fail.

When you spend more time alone, as many of us have been forced to with this pandemic, it forces you to be more creative. Well, you can choose to veg and binge Netflix but the Buckster chooses to take a Redneck Sabbatical, put on some noise cancelling headphones, and turn the rest of the world off. You need to shut all of that out if you want to come up with some great new million dollar ideas. If creativity doesn't come naturally to you, you need to schedule it. "Planned self-quarantining" should be embraced. Even if it's just as an excuse to get away from the kids or the wife or the husband, you need this player.

There's a difference between having an ego and looking at yourself in every mirror you walk by, and being serious about what you do. The way you look doesn't matter. How important you think you are doesn't matter. The task at hand, your job, what you're doing, your family, your health, those things are all important, but when you start thinking that the whole world revolves around you, that's the time to check yourself.

What do you do that you get lost in, that you love, that time just flies when you're doing it? You need something to look forward to, something that excites you, even if it won't make you any money. That kind of side hustle can help keep you motivated when you're not feeling it, giving you something to look forward to when it's coming. And it will rev you up so you can do better when you're out there kicking ass.

You need something that takes you away, so when you come back to your main lane you'll be re-energized. If you don't think you have time for the side hustle, you are exactly the person who needs the side hustle. Don't have any expectations of the side hustle except that it gets your RPMs going, it doesn't need to make you any money. Trust the Buckster on this, you need it. Go find it, PLAYER!

Don't let the macro distractions take you away from the micro realities of what is important you YOU. All the successful people I know focus on the micro, the day to day stuff, the blocking and tackling, the things that affect YOU. Focus on what you can affect, not on what you can't control. There's no reason to be distracted by the politics, or the Covid, or any of that shit that you have no control over. News is a FOR-PROFIT business. I put that in all caps because it's important.

The Macros are time wasters. The Macros are partyers. The Macros are big picture. You have no control over the Macros. The Micros pay the bills. Don't ever forget that. Catch you next time player!

1 out of 1 of us is gonna die. I'm getting a bit dark here, I know, but maybe this Covid thing is finally get into to me. What would you do if you knew you were going to die tomorrow? Or next week, or next year? Sure, we've all heard that before, but really think about it, and not in a Hallmark movie kind of way. Everything is on the table. We're watching death in real-time right now.

1. If you die tomorrow, will you regret what you did/didn't do today? 2. What's on the table for your life inventory? 3. What's your bucket list? What haven't you done yet that you want to do before you die?

Confront and be motivated by your unpredictability. Take chances with your business. Live for the day. Don't let it get you down, let it motivate you. Go out there and do it, PLAYER!

The internet, the media, all the entertainment channels (and that includes the news channels, don't fool yourself, they ARE just entertainment) all of them are controlled by 1 thing- revenue. Don't even forget that. They keep us watching by keeping us scared. Try shutting it off for a while, just try it.

The herd mentality and the government are not the solution. Work hard, but be contrary, and don't believe everything you're being told. I'm not telling you not to wear a mask. If you have breathing or health problems, just stay inside, don't be stupid! But for the rest of us, don't follow blindly.

You've heard me say it before, but now I'm telling YOU to become more like the Buckster, become a mother factual. Of course, you can't become the baddest mother factual on the planet because I have that title, I've actually trademarked it, but I'll let you all strive to get as close to the Buckster as possible. The way to do this is to tell the truth. Sound easy? Sure, but really think about it. REALLY think about it. How many times have you told a "little while lie" just so you don't hurt someone's feelings? Yea, don't do that anymore. It's too hard to keep track of all the lies and you know what? People will appreciate you for it, they will respect you. Will you piss some people off, will you take some shots and miss? Sure, but the people who stick around will respect you, and will never question whether you are being straight with them. Be a "Misanthropic Fiduciary", it's OK if you hate everyone, but you're still going to do the right thing. Talk like a 2 year old, strip off your filter, and you just be you. Try it for 1 day.
