Firefly Episode 6 "Our Mrs. Reynolds"/Bunheads Episode 6 "Movie Truck"

One's a trained companion gone rouge, and one's a dress shop owner who hosts a book club at her out-of-town friend's house, but both of these ladies are trying to be someone else today. Both must find a way to sneak into/out of vehicle, but opt not to do it by seducing women. Both episodes feature unusual outfits, one made of teddy bears and one made for a gun. Some of our favorite characters face serious challenges this week, but other very significant characters only pop in for a quick sec. And this episode is sponsored by the Dune cup! Bunheads Episode 5 "Money for Nothing"/Firefly Episode 5 "Safe"

This week the bunheads AND River get to express themselves through dance, at least until the forces of evil enter. For River, evil is kidnappers; for the bunheads, it's grocery bags. Malcom negotiates a fair price for the cows he's been flying around, while Michelle negotiates her way into a teen hangout after she can't negotiate financial sense into Fanny. We meet more family members of both Simon and Rico, who've both made notable fashion choices. River almost gets burnt at the stake. Boo should probably burn her clothes. And we definitely were NOT part of a cult.

A purity test gone awry has the whole school in a tizzy bigger than the recent poor girl ordering Chinese food incident. We meet like 9000 new characters but don't even see some of the main ones. We get to see an actor who played a big ole d-bag on Buffy and a random older lady who's still shipping her high school classmates. Weevil looooves throwin' stuff on the ground almost as much as Stacey loves putting her hand in Bryan's pocket. Stacey was wrong about Logan saying he was a witness, but she was right about Amy Sherman-Palladino writing for Veronica's Closet. Also... daughters rubbing their dad's feet... is that a thing?

Firefly Episode 4 "Shindig"/Bunheads Episode 4 "Better Luck Next Year"

Both Malcom and Sasha have been a bit snotty lately, so they offer Kaylee/Boo a dress/pointe shoes in hopes of winning back their friendship. Boo and Summer briefly change their identities in order to trick someone who could decide their fate. Inara has two men fighting over her on the dance floor, while Michelle struggles to find a man to do anything about her dance floor. Both episodes feature... catering? (Hey, it's not great, but it's a connection!) And Stacey completely forgets about the word carnivore, but what she said made sense... right?

Well, well, well, yet another new white boy of the week gets into a bit of a pickle involving a Piñata and an angry gym rat. The level of quality that printers are able to achieve varies greatly throughout the episode. The counters in the Mars kitchen were clearly made by the same people who made the Stars Hollow snowmen. And Bryan shares a story about a time he almost wasn't allowed into Canada.

We did skip the whole part about Veronica finding spy photos of herself in her mom's secret safety deposit box, but we'll go over that next time. Girl's going through a lot!
