Let’s talk about self-worth, self-confidence, and self-esteem.
* How do we raise the collective esteem of a community?
* Why do we need to?
* How did it get depleted in the first place?
These are questions we explore alongside some recent personal stories that inform them.
Let’s talk about self-worth, self-confidence, and self-esteem.

* Why do we need to?

Question: What do you get when you mix a movie/documentary called “Am I Racist”, a book about Post-Traumatic Slave Syndrome, and a biography about an unscrupulous business magnate?
Answer: You get closer to understanding the origin of generational curses that plague the black community. You get a deeper understanding of why and how black communities have been destabilized, and what is possible when opportunities aren’t blocked and families are able to perpetuate generational wealth.
There is a lot we begin to unpack in this episode. The effects of the things we spoke about in this episode run deep and overtime in future episodes we will continue to unpack and learn about the past as we find ways to create a better future.
Will I get in trouble for asking this question? I promise, I have no intentions of being unnecessarily controversial— especially during the most heated months of an election year.
I’m asking this question in a more rhetorical way. My digital garden (explained in the podcast) led me here.
I think this episode is important because it explores a bunch of overlapping topics and themes. We talk about genetics, slavery, politics, and Christ’s preeminence.
These topics build upon each other and are related in interesting ways. I focus mostly on my personal experiences and how the “rabbit” in my digital garden led me through these topics and to this question.
Why does it matter?
Because the Build to Last mission is to help Christian families break generational curses, stabilize their environments, and build faith, relationships, and money that last.
How can we assess where were are and dream about where we are going, if we don’t know how we got here?
Howdy! We’ve had a crazy week guys. All of my expectations for what this project could be and how many people it can impact are blown away. This idea has been burdening me for over six years. I genuinely thought about two hundred people at most would see the vision, so when I reluctantly posted this video, I went back to my usual day…
Imagine my surprise when a week later it’s the most viewed video I’ve personally made in years. It’s actually quite embarrassing. There was no clickbait, no strategy, no over-the-top editing, and no acting. I didn’t want to share it. It’s not even good. I wasn’t even at my best…
Apparently, that doesn’t matter to y’all at all.
We are all clearly on one accord with Build to Last and the overall long-term mission. We have all experienced the results of sinful lifestyles. Some of us are victims of other peoples’ decisions. Some are actively yielding disorder through their own disobedience. We need to do our best to put a stop to this. It’s up to us to stop the foolishness first in our own life in order to be a blessing to those around us.
This week, I heard a pastor friend say, “when we live against God’s word, it brings destruction in our personal lives.” He said this about our personal life and to address the direction our country is going. It’s true. God will not be mocked. Whatever we sow, we will reap.
I have a plan. It’s simple. And I’m going to share it in detail here soon. Stay tuned.
p.s. I have a little gift I made for you guys. Enjoy.
