Spiritual Growth
Evaluate where you are, and where your deficiencies are.
Often times, when we get off with our partner, it’s because we are off in our spiritual life
You must have God in the center
Things We Often Put In The Place Of God:
- Work
- Family
- Physical Health/Getting Fit
- Marriage
When He is not in his rightful place, we have the opportunity to put him back.
Hebrews 12:1: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us
For growth, you have to be active. God doesn’t want you on the sidelines
Take moments of repentance. Be honest with yourself, God, and others.
Share your moments with the Lord with your spouse
Grow in your personal time with God, The Word, and Prayer:
- Personal moments (nature walks, jogging, meditation)
- Reading and hearing The Word
- Talking to God personally, and together
To grow with God, you have to put in the time.
Start where you are. Bring him what is on your heart.
Part of the Spiritual Growth Process is leaning into others. Begin to encourage people.
Encouragement is speaking courage into someone or something. Speak courage into yourself, as well as the situation you are in.
Commit to your local church. Lean into a group of people who are invested in the same thing as you. There are people there who love you, and who need to be loved by you.
Invest in your community. Figure out how you're going to invest in your people.
Seek to be held accountable. Be in a position where you are teachable and coachable.
