PRIORITY Q&A

Speed Weed

Given the enjoyment of writing Scourge and a Doppelganger here and there, would it interest you to try and write another sort of doppelganger to Sonic or any of his friends?

DaniTheLight

If you could replace a Villian of the Idw with a Villian from Sonic Universe/Archie which one would you replace and which one would you bring back if you could?

Scruffymatt

What's your go-to selection to listen to while you work?

AWF

Have you ever considered writing a Sonic character based on anything like that [supernatural creatures]?

SaturnFlicky (KoFi)

Hi Ian. Would you ever want to use Little Planet, West Side Island, Flicky Island or South Island in the IDW Sonic comics?

Griscuit (KoFi)

Is Eggman having a kindly alter-ego meant to be an homage to the original "Dr. Kintobor" backstory..?

Digamma

[Concerning money in Sonic]

PC-The-Unicorn (KoFi)

So since aliens exist in the Sonic Universe, have you ever wanted to explore what alien races could exist in the universe?

Scurvy Piratehog (KoFi)

Since money isn't a thing in Sonic's world..so what does Rouge do with all the jewels she steals and find?

Madeline BlueStar7 (KoFi)

Would it be possible at all for Mina to make a return to the franchise in Sonic IDW and other mainline media?

Andrew D.

Thoughts on these revelations [Mecha Sonic's name]? Also, are there any other Sonic characters you’d really like to see merch of?

SonicSonicsSonic

Hey dose when shadow uses chaos control to freeze time dose time freeze around the whole world or universe .

Harper

If you saw it as “too creepy” for 11-year-old Archie Tails to ever find anyone who likes him back, what was the point of involving him so intimately in the Fiona relationship drama instead of leaving him out of it?

Mister Mysterious

Ian: Would you ever want to bring back some of the random pieces of gear Sonic had in the past...?

Kyle: What kind of alternate universes would you like to see in [Sonic Prime]?

Scruffymatt

There have been so many memorable boss battles in the Sonic series over the last 30 years, but I was wondering what your personal favourites are? Classic, modern, end of zone, super Sonic end game epics... all are on the table here.

DaniTheLight

If you could choose a way for Clutch to be defeated, what would you think would be justifiable from what he's done so far?

Jib

I'm not sure if this is too on par in terms of what you already know from the last mighty question in the podcast but, I was curious what knuckles and mighty's dynamic is considering mania and idw

Diane W.

I know what you did with Thrash was not your intended plans due to outside forces but do you think that Zonic or the other Zone Cops should’ve stepped in and arrested Thrash for his crimes against the entire echidna race, and have him imprisoned in the No Zone Jail and be separated from his sisters for the rest of his life?

Speed Weed

If you were to be given a chance to try your hand at injecting a bit of extra world building to Hollow Knight...what would you want to see expanded upon the most?

N'Oni

In Lost World, Master Zik mentions that they'd much rather be tending their garden... so uh, what sort of things do ya think he's growing in there?

Scurvy Piratehog (Kofi)

What the heck would a romance with Sticks the Badger be like?

Fionan M.

[Are there two Central Cities between the two worlds? Is Green Hill Zone on the mainland now?]

Andrew D.

[What is Ray's canon height/age?]

Dove (Kofi)

Have there ever been plans for such a villain ["vampires"] that you know of? If not, would it be something you'd like to write?

SonicSonicsSonic

Is there a possibility that there will be a comic where “certain” retcons in a certain series are addressed and the plot holes created by them are filled in. When the story it is run through a “certain group of people” it could provide some insightful feedback for “someone”to bring to a “certain”fandom Someway. dose this count as a fan idea I tried to make it a vague as possible so it dose not count.

PRIORITY Q&A

DaniTheLight

I was wondering If Mephiles will still show up as stated after the Scourge lockdown positive response even if Sega has more control of the series. And if he still exist or not. Cuz I along when many Mephiles fans are still waiting for his dark and awesome return, due to his potential being rushed just as they did with Infinite.

Digamma

Was the 5th Sonic Comic Origins story (the one about Nicole's backstory) made alongside the first 4 (it basically finished the framing device story that also encompassed the first 4, and it had the same art team) but not published until a bit later to tie in with Spark of Life, or was it actually made later?

Diane W.

So on a previous Q&A, you said that if a Zombot gets set on fire, it basically melts and dies, but would happen to a Zombot if it gets electrocuted?

Andrew D.

If Geoffrey studied Ixian Magicks when he was younger, why did he choose not to use any when he was trying to kill Sonic during Endgame?

[Didi the] Tails Doll concept design had a spherical gem on its head like in the comic...?

Speed Weed

If you're not allowed to LOOK at any fan content, does that also mean you're not allowed to, say, play a good ole session of AM2R or watch a video of a fan animation or anything...?

Happytimes (Kofi)

How would you have done a crossover between the Classic series and the Battle Network series?

Scurvy Piratehog (Kofi)

So..what would happen if Sonic took care of a Chao as the werehog?

PC-the-Unicorn

Ian, how would you do Worlds Collide but if instead of Mega Man crossing over with Modern Sonic, Mega Man crossed over with Classic Sonic and Boom respectively?

Johnny_B_Goode

What are your top 3-5 mysterious ancient civilizations with amazing technology that may or may not have destroyed themselves in Sonic media?

Hero of Light 13

Sonic and Kingdom Hearts crossover?

SaturnFlicky (KoFi)

Do you have any thoughts on how long [Sonic, Mighty & Ray] all known each other...?

AWF

PRIORITY Q&A

The Shadow Emperor (KoFi)

Let's say you were adapting Shadow's game for IDW. Would you have Sonic and friends be morally conflicted about killing the Black Arms? Obviously in the game they don't seem at all bothered by slaughtering aliens en masse, but do you think that's consistent with their characters?

AwesomeCakester

What character did you dislike, or even flat out hate in any media that at some point, whether it be through a different interpretation or just a reworking from the source material, you changed your opinion on to be an alright character or even becoming your favorite?

Scurvy Piratehog (Kofi)

After taking a look at the solicitations for the upcoming issue 45 of IDW sonic, it made me wonder...the overall premise ( and the apparent absent of Sonic) makes it seem more fitting for a mini-series or a Sonic Universe like book... so.. overall my question is this. Do you think the IDW sonic series could benefit from having it’s own Sonic universe style book? With how well the comic is doing and how many people love it, I’d assume there is a market there for it, but what do you think?

DianeLionheart

While were still on the subject of the Deadly Six, which of Sonic’s friends would have their own rivalry with each of the DS?

Speed Weed

So now that Metroid Dread has risen back from the 20 year cryostasis that was its rumored development hell, what are your hopes and expectations from it? What did you like out of the reveal trailer? Anything that kinda rubs you the wrong way? Most importantly, what do you think of the EMMI robots?

Scruffymatt

I apologise if this one's been asked before - it feels like the kind of question Ian's probably answered, but I didn't see it on the Q & A master list. We all know there was some really shoddy work done on the ArchieSonic comics prior to Ian taking the writing reigns in issue #160 - let's not dwell on that stuff. But there was some really fantastic work done in the book before Ian too. So my question for you both today is: what are some of your favourite issues, story arcs or moments from ArchieSonic, pre-Birthday Bash?
