I got this idea when Sega presented "Tribot" as their annual April Fools news. I know fan characters are VERY touchy when it comes to copyrights. BUT if Sega themselves make an official "fan character", do you actually have access to possibly bring them to the IDW Sonic comic?

After the events of Worlds Collide rebooted Sonic’s multiverse, I recall the idea of a multiverse getting scrapped due to issues with the real-world ownership of the Cosmic Interstate. Then we winded up getting some sort of multiverse with various Capcom and Sega franchises in Worlds Unite. Can you share or explain how the multiverse, or whatever it was, worked after the reboot? Did Blaze’s World exist in its own multiverse alongside the other franchises?

When the Council of Acorn, apart from Rotor and Uncle Chuck, chose to side with Naugus despite the fact that he is clearly the bad guy, were they all brainwashed into letting him become king and siding with him purely out of fear? And was there going to be a story where the council gets disbanded for arbitrary siding with someone like Naugus, as well as refusing to allow the Freedom Fighters to go out on missions, even though permission was never required in earlier issues, as well as other consequences like, for example, Tails having a major falling out with his mother for betraying him and his friends?

I've been doing research on sonic and relations to greek and some math, in the games; sonic vs chaos is the hero archetype vs the serpentine creature, archie comics; eggman relates chaos energy that sonic uses as something beyond quantum measures that leaps into chaos theory and in the ixis arc chaos energy is referred as being related to chaotic forces making up everything (chaos from greek basically) essentially being the embodiment of chaos is some grand order, was there some plan on using sonic for a major event?

I could be completely misremembering the premise behind this question but: I can vaguely remember Ian once complaining on the bumbleking forms about how sometimes the rare instances of Archie that weren't written by him would often still have him listed as writer on solicits, and I have an even fuzzier, unsure if it's legit or misremembered memory of something else of you following that up with mentioning that there's a few off panels miscredited to you (since you wrote a bulk of the reboot-era off panels) and that def has me interested. I think the only off panels credited to you that make me go "hmm maybe someone else wrote them" are the off-panels for 261-262 (so the middle of Waves of Change); Off Panels were done in batches of 4, with the same art team and writer within a batch (with the the main book batches and the Universe batches often but not always with the same teams)....

Ever since the “incident” in #19 and how people were upset with Shadow’s portrayal in the same issue, I gotten pretty upset with this myself, especially since I realized after reading comments online about this that it is a huge betrayal to the character development he had in SA2, Heroes, his own title game, and even 06. I just wish SEGA can look back at those games and see who the real Shadow the Hedgehog is, and it [hurts] my heart every time I think about it. I know I shouldn’t be asking for spoilers for future issues of the comic, but at the very least, answer my question with revealing too much: Will there be a scene in the eventual fallout/recovery arc of the Metal Virus Saga where Shadow gets called out for his arrogance and stupidity, again back in #19, and gets questioned for his current behavior[?]

In the back up story to Archie Sonic #281 Tails mentions he sees Bunnie as his big sister and overall seems very close to her. Does this mean that Tails was closer to Bunnie then the other Freedom Fighters that aren't Sonic in Volume 2 does he just consider all of them his siblings?

Ever since the “incident” in #19 and how people were upset with Shadow’s portrayal in the same issue, I gotten pretty upset with this myself, especially since I realized after reading comments online about this that it is a huge betrayal to the character development he had in SA2, Heroes, his own title game, and even 06. I just wish SEGA can look back at those games and see who the real Shadow the Hedgehog is, and it [hurts] my heart every time I think about it. I know I shouldn’t be asking for spoilers for future issues of the comic, but at the very least, answer my question with revealing too much: Will there be a scene in the eventual fallout/recovery arc of the Metal Virus Saga where Shadow gets called out for his arrogance and stupidity, again back in #19, and gets questioned for his current behavior[?]

Is there any video game genre you'd wish to someday see the Sonic series attempt to tackle (regardless of whether Sega or a 3rd party makes it)? For example, I think playing as Sonic and friends in a Dynasty Warriors style game mowing down Badniks would be AWESOME for the flair of the moves and how well Sonic's speed would be built for getting around the battlefield so quickly. Or...would you rather like to see Sega try to tackle a non-platforming genre again with Sonic (they've gone an RPG, a free-roaming racer, a fighting game, and metroidvania, and of course puyo puyo)?

Hello Ian (and Kyle), I think I and some fans need clarity since there seems to be dispute and confusion in which we misunderstand the Archie/Sega/IDW multiverses and it's relation to other multiverses, there's parallel universes, we got it, Archie And Sega are different multiverses and related through parallel universes but separate, which you've outed as "apples and oranges" So i've been thinking would Rockman, Riverdale, Image (All three have conversed with the archie sonic multiverse at some point) DC, Marvel and others be from different multiverses as well? like ultimate ensembles?, basically the system is sega are limited but wide, archie is expansive and elegant very similar but slightly off and others from the different "multiverses" have differing laws that exist where some are similar or radically different. Is this the closest to the "apples and oranges" analogy as an understanding? I like to think of it as like the marvel omniverse in it's size and qualities to not scramble and confuse my brain in a bunch with the different multiverses with entirely different dimensions like Mark Gruenwald. And is Boom, Games, IDW and Archie (Sonic-Verse) in different Parallel Universes set in different branches of different cardinals of separate Multiverse
