The Bums kick off the head-end of S3:E0078 with NCAAM Final Four hijinks; Lucy coins a new March term; Caitlin Clark is one woman wrecking crew — becoming a national sports celebrity (and rightfully so, and also, it’s about fucking time); MLB’s opening day starts on a positive note for both Chicago teams; Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is sent to the showers for not having eyes in the back of his head (or for gaslighting the ump, we can’t tell); ….and it’s with great pleasure….; Basketball Hall of Fame inductees are reviewed in a speed round — and not all of them are shoe ins; in NFL news, what the actual fuck is going on with the Baltimore Ravens, and separately, why can’t Lamar Jackson get paid (Rocky has a hypothesis); Washington’s NFL franchise is on the sales block to determine who flicks piece of shit Daniel Snyder off the gridiron; and close with a angling scandal for the ages.

The tail-end begins with quiet and solemn reflection in the wake of yet “another school shooting”; Rocky’s new medicine cabinet is fancier than a Canadian tuxedo; the Bums dive into another epic beer review with Downers Grove, Illinois-based Goldfinger Brewing’s “Original Lager” (5.2% ABV), an “unobtrusive, crisp, light, yet flavorful” creation with malt and noble hop flavors that impress; Rocky has acquired a blind Whiskey tasting kit to test the palates of Eddie and Paddy; the biggest, fattest, most racist piece of shit just got himself indicted (no tears); and close with Eddie hating on Florida with a passion, following their latest embarrassment (getting tough to keep track).  This and more cussing and outrageous opinions than most of you can afford.

The Bums start part one of S3:E0077 with a March Madness update (whole lot of shaking going on); the Big Ten continues its long traditional of being overrated, only to whimper out of the NCAA tourney; Ed “Itchy Culo” Cooley is shown the door (sans fanfare or respect), and St. Rick “The Vampire” Pitino gets a new St. Job; talk turns to NFL trades, free agency and draft prep — as the Detroit Lions have made enough solid moves to be picked by some as NFC North Champs in 2023; the NHL and the Chicago BlackEyeHawks are in deep shit again, this time taking sides with xenophobic, Russian players (WTAF); and close with a “piece” on former Golf Channel host Holly Sonders, who is pimping of a new venture — a Topless Sports League (yes, really).

Part two begins with another Intergalactically famous beer review by way of Normal, IL and a creation from Destihl Brewery, “Dead Head IPA” (6.9% ABV), an American IPA — ”Like the bold colors & patterns of a tie-dye shirt, this West Coast-style IPA is bursting with psychedelic hoppy & fruity aromas swirling with abundant American hop flavor & bitterness and a vintage malt backdrop”, and apt description of this tasty West Coast IPA that is likely to sneak up on you if you’re not careful; the Bums issue a rare correction on the topic of Ales & Lagers; Rocky snags some migratory rainbow trout on a frigid river in Michigan; the Bums review a Netflix docuseries (Eddie coins a new term); Rocky’s iPhone captures some unplanned audio, the results are kinda funny; Swiss watch makerTag Huer has some work to do (magnets are not your friend); and close with a discussion of Chicago’s construction season, pushing some of commuters to the rails.   All of this, and our usual nonsense.

art Uno of S3:E0076 jumps into the deep end of the March Madness pool with a special  IDNKT edition , entitled “Who Ya Got?” — let the Madness ensue; the Chicago Bears are poised to have a monster of the midway draft and FA year; respect to former Vikings head coach Bud “Spring Chicken” Grant —who shockingly expired, at the ripe age of 95; high jump royalty and OSU Beaver,  Dick “The Flop” Fosbury passes at 76; NBA player Ja “Not Smart” Morant is skating on thin ice, and the cross road is coming up quick; and unsurprisingly, the new MLB baseball rules ‘suck-a-bag-of-you-know-whats’ (just saying).

Part Dos pops with a beer review showcasing a creation from Art History Brewing in Geneva, IL, ‘Bauhaus’ (5.2% ABV ), very crisp and drinkable German-style Pilsner with Tettnang hops; the Bums discuss why Chinese sanctions are en vogue, in the wake of Tik Tok’s blatant privacy violations, et al.; the utter collapse of former rich guy Alex Murdaugh who is guilty as fuck for killing his wife, asshole kid (who killed his friend’s girlfriend), and who quite possibly did the same for his loyal house keeper — rightfully gets life; January 6, Fox, FOIA are discussed; and in other “WTF News”, Mexican Cartels are apparently now issuing apologies (yes, really); and close with a bon voyage to 1970s TV show character Tony Baretta, aka Robert Blake who recently passed, aged 89.  All of this grandeur and a little static (thanks for your patience)!  Get some!

The bottom unit kicks off with another dope ass Bums double beer review, with Chicago’s Old Irving Brewing’s Cinnamon Prost, a white stout (7% ABV) that tastes like residual milk from Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal—and Cambridge, MA-based Lamplighter Brewing’s Deja Vu, a witbier ale with lavender, pink peppercorn, orange peel and corriander (4.8% ABV);  Rocky has a bad travel air travel experience courtesy of UAL; Paddy takes Barcelona by storm --the Iberian peninsula has changed forever.   More debauchery.  More nonsense.

On the backside, the Bums review a creation from Asian-inspired BiXi Beer in Chicago with ‘Vibe Shift’ (8% ABV), an American IPA chock full of Eureka, El Dorado, and Strata hops — accurately described as “dangerously smooth” — goes down too easy; the Bums discuss Mississippi ((circa-1970s) and their manipulation of iconic TV program Sesame Street (proving once again why MS is literally ‘the asshole of America’); Paddy’s head is going to pop clean off if he hears The Doobie Brothers masterpiece ‘Another Park, Another (fucking) Sunday’ on a loop; Paddy’s distain for Christmas is only topped by his neighbors who leave their fucking Christmas lights up through mid -February — and counting; a serious discussion ensues involving the trend of selfish pricks who record people getting their asses whooped to boost their social media — a workshop on privacy and accountability; Rocky discusses the ChatGPT wave in technology; before Paddy closes with a Valentine’s Day edition of IDNKT.   All of this grandeur is free of charge, so you better get some now before the Bums start paying you to listen.

The suffix edition kicks off with a back-to-back “double booze” review (liver’s beware), starting with Lamp Lighter Brewing’s ‘Werewolves of Cambridge’ (7.2% ABV), an approachable, smooth English Pale Malt Porter that smacks with toffee, coffee and caramel (thanks McD!!)— followed by a review of ‘Drumchameau’, a Pinot Noir Cask single pot Irish single malt — that presents as a bit grainy, flavored with honey and vanilla — similar to a traditional Japanese whiskey; Eddie gets his heavy metal fix while being price gouged at the hands of Chicago’s Radius venue in China Town; RIP to Shirley Williams of “Laverne and Shirley” TV fame — rendering Lenny the last stooge standing; the Bums go day drinking with Paddy’s Big East pals (2 out of 10 dentists approve);  the classic movie “The Sting” holds up over time (kinda sorta); and nobody on the planet is happy with the Rock and Roll HOF nominees (zero stars, do not recommend).   All this without the sharp stick in the eye.
