Today, we see how differently the Christian is called to live in the world. We read Paul’s amazing words that they are in affliction but not crushed by it, and we ask the Lord to give us strength to live this way each day.

We begin to dive into 2 Corinthians 4 and discuss how the Holy Spirit shines the light of God’s glory into our hearts. Even greater, He chooses to dwell in us and we ask the Holy Spirit to lead us deeper into this reality.

As we conclude this week with John 11, we look at the end of the story and Jesus’ command, “Untie him and let him go.” Just as with Lazarus, Jesus looks at the enemy of death, who has us bound, and commands on our behalf that death unbind us and let us go.

Today we consider how all throughout the telling of the raising of Lazarus, Jesus repeatedly underscores his intention: belief. Not just any belief, but faith in HIM, the only Son of God, sent by the Father to redeem the world.

This week, guest host Elizabeth Rzepka dives into the story of the raising of Lazarus in John 11, looking at this miracle as an archetype for salvation history. In today’s episode, we look at Lazarus as the one Jesus loves. Just like Lazarus, we too are the one Jesus loves!

Today we fix our eyes on Jesus, the Son of Man, who stands at the center of the cosmos and of human history. Even in the worst of circumstances and amongst other gods and idols, Jesus is superior and holds the world in his hands.

In seeing Jesus, John sees all of these different elements of Jesus presented that show that He is trustworthy and true and we reflect on those in our own lives.

As John is suffering, in the middle of it all is him just beholding Jesus. Today we discuss how we behold Jesus, how we look at him in the midst of our circumstances.
