"I wanted to be seen, but I didn't want to be watched"
Something I want to share is that there are some vulnerable shares about my trauma from my childhood. Be aware it is there and that there is nothing wrong with getting to the root of why something is hard to deal with.
In this episode I talk about how the fear of being seen affects you going after your dream. How the impact comes from when you were a kid that later affect you now. What responses you have, what it feels like emotionally and physically. How to move through the fear of being seen and how it supports you.

THE STEPS TO GET PAST THE FEAR OF BEING SEEN
Identify the Root Cause: Reflect on why you fear being seen. Is it rooted in past experiences, low self-esteem, or fear of judgment? Understanding the underlying cause can help you address it more effectively.
Challenge Negative Beliefs: Recognize and challenge any negative beliefs or self-doubt that contribute to your fear of being seen. Replace these thoughts with positive affirmations and reminders of your worth and value.
Gradual Exposure: Gradually expose yourself to situations where you feel uncomfortable being seen. Start with small steps and gradually increase exposure as you build confidence.
Focus on Growth: Embrace opportunities for personal growth and development. Set goals that push you outside your comfort zone and celebrate your progress along the way.
Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself and practice self-compassion as you navigate your fear of being seen. Acknowledge your feelings without judgment and treat yourself with the same kindness you would offer to a friend facing a similar challenge.
Seek Support: Surround yourself with supportive friends, family members, or a therapist who can provide encouragement and guidance as you work through your fear of being seen.
Visualize Success: Visualize yourself confidently navigating situations where you fear being seen. Imagine yourself overcoming obstacles and achieving your goals with grace and ease.
Take Action: Take proactive steps to confront your fear of being seen. Whether it's speaking up in a meeting, sharing your ideas, or pursuing opportunities for visibility, each action you take builds confidence and reduces fear. Takeaway + Action: Would you rather be the person to regret or to try and not have it be perfect. Try one every little step at a time. Start talking to people you don't know today. Even if it is just a hello.
