The holidays can feel like one more thing to do in our already busy lives! I asked fellow Badass Women to share their best tips to keep the holidays Merry and Bright! Today we hear from Alex Perry of Practically Speaking

Eliza Kingsford shares the importance of self care during the holidays!

Trauma is at the ROOT of addiction. These are women just like you and I and at some point something broke them, some traumatic experience. Wendy educates us on addiction and is working to help women recover and looking at the systemic causes of addiction. The women at Dove are the most vulnerable, they represent the majority of addicts. Trauma is the gateway drug. Something has broken them, addiction is what follows. Dove Recovery House for Women is free and has a 70% success rate. Donate supplies. money or both. $222 funds a woman for a week with food, a bed, love, community and treatment. We're looking for 30 more Badass Women to fund a women with $222 in 2019.

The only thing we all have in common is our imperfection. Listening to AJ and her story will remind you that we really are better together. As the youngest woman to live at Dove Recovery House, AJ shares the stories of these amazing women coming together and raising her. Now nearly 21 years old, AJ is closer than she's ever been to a life she's never known, one of sobriety and real connection. She's looking forward to paying it forward to serve others going through the same journey. Finding work with purpose isn't always found with money as the motivator.  Julie had the opportunity that she didn't have to work to support her family, yet she NEEDED and WANTED to work and make a difference!

From Stay at Home Mom to her Masters Degree in Philanthropic Studies and Executive Director of TCC Gives.  There's no right and wrong way to find your calling.  Follow your interests, curiosity and passion. 

Julie's journey started with a dog rescue while 8 months pregnant with her second child! 

I don't know one Badass Woman that hasn't had a story of struggle and sadness that helped lead her to find her place in the world.

Cari Hahn is a Bright Light.  There's no other way to describe her which makes perfect sense that her Breast Cancer Survivor story includes starting a company called Karma Candles.   

 There's laughter and love and grief in this story.  And there are beautiful messages for all of us in how Cari writes her story from diagnosis to today.

My journey toward light is not unlike many others. Darkness, for me, came April 15, 2016. A breast cancer diagnosis flipped my world on its side, knocking the sun out of my sky altogether. Throughout my treatment journey mission remained steadfast -- to create good in the world.
