In this episode, we’re getting real about how “purpose” isn’t a lack of struggles or finally figuring it all out. I know sometimes we want our stories to be wrapped up in a neat bow, but the truth is, we’ll be in process with Jesus until we see Him face to face.
I wish I could say I’m on the other side of my struggles, totally healed, but the reality is I’m still in it — and that’s okay. I used to feel shame about that, thinking that struggling disqualified me from my purpose, but I’ve learned that it’s actually in the midst of pain and struggles where God invites us into deeper faith and relationship.
Our purpose isn't found in conquering all of our obstacles and eliminating all discomfort, but in co-laboring with Christ through our humanity on this side of heaven.
It’s not your life - struggles = purpose, it’s your life, including your struggles + Jesus = purpose. That’s the Gospel — God WITH us, right in the middle of our humanity, limitations, pain, and questions. Purpose is less about what we accomplish and more about who we’re becoming in relationship with Jesus.
If we base our purpose on what we can DO, it can easy collapse. But when we live in communion with the Trinity, our purpose becomes a byproduct of knowing Him. At the end of the day, that’s what really matters — knowing Him, not just doing things for Him. Tune in as we explore how purpose is found in walking with Christ through every season.
