c2eMusic Soulful Deep House

This is part one of a three part set. It's an epic six hours in total! It was recorded live on Pressure Radio on 28th June from 9pm to 3am Sydney time.
It also features a special guest that I've been trying to get on the show since he moved to Sydney three years. I am talking about Brum's finest Gary Ward. Those of you that party in the Midlands may remember "Days Like This", "Über Nights" and more recently "Body People". All names synonymous with Gary.
This was the first time we had played together and I was curious to see how our styles would work together. As you will see the answer is very nicely indeed thank you. The people in the chatroom kept commenting on how well we played together which was great to hear.
I kicked the show off playing for the first 30 minutes and started with new tracks purchased that day. That said the opener is a HUGE classic that I only got my hands on that day!! Gary took over at the half hour mark and upped the tempo a little but the vibe was still flowing through. We swapped back again just past halfway through this pt1 mix where I played a more uptempo set to continue the energy Gary had created. The last half an hour Gary changes direction and we here a nice disco infused vibe.
Look out for parts two and three which include a monster MAW throw down.

This is a release of a recent guest mix that I did for my good friend DJ Nycks here in Sydney for his monthly radio show Underground Jack on Grant Nelson's D3EP Radio out of London.
He had two guests on for this show, myself and Chico Flash. It's crazy because Nycks asked me to do it a couple of weeks after I bought my first Chico Flash track!!
Chico is up first and gets stuck straight into the back of the crate pulling out gems left, right and centre.
My mix has a real UK flava. It comes out firing and never really looks back. Very different to the usual c2eMusic flow you get in a mix. Hoping to be able to start a residency of my own on D3EP very soon where I will play a little tougher than the Pressure Radio sound.

This mix has been sitting on a shelf all month. Recorded on the 4th April but only being released on the 24th!
I had intended to do another mix in April which I thought would be the official podcast, but for one reason or another (Easter being one of them!) it hasn't happened.
This mix has some beautiful disco flavours, some underground UK vibes and some pretty chunky deep sounds all building on each other.
Have to call out Heat Alliance, I actually came across them in December and have been sitting on four little crackers that I picked up by them. They are all in this mix and sound great.
Also great to be able to play some fresh Crackazat releases. One of my favourite producers, so talented.

After three months away it's great to be back on Pressure. This is the come back show and I must admit I was a little rusty round the edges, but that's OK we're all friends :).
I hadn't even bought any new music during my time away, so when it came time to do the show it was the same old supermarket sweep around the aisles of Traxsource. Unfortunately I ran out of time before I could fill the trolley so we don't have a mix of completely new music but the majority of it is.
Some of the highlights on this mix include the excellent Crackazat remixes and the highly contagious Qubiko.
I should be back every fortnight now, same time same place although the upcoming clock changes mean I'll be back the good old lunchtime UK slot.

YES we are finally back after being away for three months. It's probably the longest I've been away from music during my adult years but a combination of being ill and moving home proved too much.
This is a one man show this week with my partner in crime Karl Prinzen unavailable.
I hadn't even gotten round to doing a decent shop for tunes, so I already knew it wouldn't be an all new show for the return.
That said there are some great new tracks in here - as usual purchased ten minutes before the show is supposed to start.
It was a drama just getting on air - Facebook have put me on a beta version with a new capability called Creative Studio so I couldn't work out how to get on air!! Once that was sorted I then realised that whilst we'd been away Xander the station owner had changed all of the media - so I had to change all of the banners on the screens. As a result the show started an hour late.
I am so grateful for all the people that jumped on to watch and listen just minutes into the show, it was great to see given how long we have been away.
Facebook did their usual BS and killed the stream after an hour and then to rub salt complained about the last song I played on the mix which again is crap as it's underground garage from 2012!

We'll be back every other Monday from the 11th March on House Nation Live and I'll be back on Pressure Radio again every other Thursday from 21st March - I hope you can join me on one or both.

It's taken a while but I've finally managed to get my hands on the recording of my Pressure Cooker set from Andy Wards amazing Vocal Booth Weekender in Spain last September.
An amazing week with some seriously awesome househeads whose dedication is to be admired.
The set was on a Saturday afternoon and I was up against Aroop Roy which was a shame as I really wanted to hear his set :)
The set was put together on the flight from Sydney to Barcelona which was a whopping 23 hours. I've become very used to playing two hour sets which allow you to build nicely and take in all different sub genres at a leisurely pace.
This was a one hour set and in front of my peers who I respect and admire - so the pressure was on.
I really wanted to encapsulate my sound over the years which meant cramming in a whole range of styles - I ended up managing to pack in 18 tracks which meant I was busy throughout the mix, but the result is so worth it.
This is one of my favourite mixes, I am really proud of the outcome and so excited to be able to share it with you all.
I'll be doing it all over again this year in Spain so for those of you in Europe that have always wanted to hear me live, grab a ticket and head to Vocal Booth Weekender - we can chill and grab a Liquor 43!

I would really love your feedback on this one as so much effort went into making it happen - travelling across the world, hours of crate digging and a sweaty hardworking set!

First up - wishing you all a happy new year.
Nice to be able to release something on the first day of a new year. This is a recording of a live set I did back in November for a local classics night here in Sydney called Re-Loaded 90's Classics.
Being the 90's everything was on vinyl. I did the first two and a half hours, followed by a back to back session to finish off. Most DJs aspire to getting the main slot at a gig, but I prefer to play earlier and control the transitions and intensity build up of the night. Changing the feel of the room, the mood of the crowd. Getting people up and moving for the first time. Setting the expectation for the rest of the night.
You can hear that very clearly in this set. The first 45 mins is pretty chilled. The kind of stuff we used to hear in bars, or maybe the more soulful nights. The first few tracks are actually dominated by the Hamburg DJs Mousse T and Boris Dlugosh.
If you listen to just the first and last 30 minutes you would swear they are from different nights, but as the mix progresses it just keeps building and it all makes sense.
There are one or two fat finger moments, but it isn't often I play vinyl anymore. Hopefully it doesn't spoil your enjoyment as you take a trip back down memory lane to when house tracks really stood out.
Thanks to everyone that came on the night - I got a lot of energy from your reaction to the tunes. it was definitely a joint effort :)

It's been a while since the last release, but I have moved house and it's taken a while to get the music room up and running again. I don't want to go too far between releases so I am going to release a mix from last year recorded on Pressure Radio. It was a celebration of the month of December and featured music I acquired during a December - any year. I think we go back to 2006, so over 11 year span.
This mix is the very definition of transition and flow. You will clearly hear a smooth flow through several sub genres, each building on the other until the eventual come down. This mix was done on the fly and has been sat in my Munted collection all year, but the more I listen to it the more I realise how much it needs to be shared so you can all enjoy as I do.
As the year draws to a close I'd like to thank everyone who continues to support by listening and downloading and especially to those that share and introduce others to the c2eMusic family and sound.

Another rare occasion when the new podcast comes out at the start of the month. I have always tried to ensure every track on every podcast is unique, only played once. I used to obsess about that, but these days I'm chillin' a little and accepting that it's OK for tunes to appear a couples of times in succession. For that reason last week's Pressure show has become the November Podcast. Half the tracks are brand new -purchased just minutes before the show. The rest is a fusion of the previous podcast with just one exception right at the end. Where last months podcast had a chunkier feel, this one is a couple of clicks down from that. A more rounded soulful, deep sound. Podomatic just reached out with a discount for plans, which makes the Broadcaster Pro doable. So I will upgrade to the top plan and then make every mix downloadable. Over 220 of them!! You may need to go and buy a new drive to store them on! I'll release them in batches so no one is overwhelmed. Back in the real world for those of you in Sydney I'll be playing vinyl classics next Saturday (10th Nov) at the Burdiken for RE_LOADED1990's - HOUSE & CLUB CLASSICS VOL 6.  Then we are back for another Underground Jack at Goodbar on November 30th.  Look out for more details on that one.

I'm really feeling this months mix. As per usual tracks were found and purchased same day as the show. Downloaded 15 minutes before the show, and heard through for the first time during the show. That can always go two ways, but I'm glad to say this one couldn't have gone any better.
The opening track is probably my favourite. It's been a while since I bought any Atjazz having supported heavily over the years. It was impossible to resist his mix of "Coltrane" though and it's one of those where the more you hear it the more you feel it.
There are 18 new tracks and I went through them like sand through your fingers. All gone in just 85 minutes!! The mix has a grown up deep flow to it with some nice transitions along the way. The last 35 minutes required some on the fly digital crate digging trying not to change the flow too much.
In other news I'm really proud to announce that I am one of D3EP Radio's newest DJs. Looking to play on Thursday's monthly from 11am-1pm UK time. Keep your eyes peeled for the launch date. I will be using it as a chance to go deeper and chunkier than my typical Pressure set, allowing me to play the more soulful stuff on Pressure Radio as I feel I've slipped to the deep end of the Pressure spectrum. So proud to get to play on the station of someone I've supported and been a HUGE fan of since 93!! Thanks Grant for giving me the opportunity.
I made my first Traxsource chart yesterday too. It's a top 10 and they all feature in this mix (you lucky sausages).
